I'm on the Xbox 360 and I'm wondering if it is possible to answer No to the pop-up in the beginning, the "38 Studios Privacy Policy", where it asks you to share your personal and game play info with 38 Studios?

Can anyone confirm that it is possible to answer No to this and still be able to recieve the armor and gun for Mass Effect 3?

I know it says in the pop-up that is also to "facilitate in-game rewards/entitlements", but maybe that is just for the Kingdoms of Amalur game. To get the unlocks for Mass Effect 3 it is enough with your EA account!?

I just rather not share my personal info with yet another company.

Thank you. :)

Ehh yes, I answered no as it seems awkward for a demo to ask me that. But you still get all the popup stuff. Also not really sure what kind of personal information they'd be taking from me via my xbox... very awkward, again, for a console game to ask that kinda crap.

But considering EA ripped that chunk out of the main game and made the demo from it (not 38 studios/BHG)... guess that parts not to surprising. They can be a bit weird.

Anyways feel free to answer no and give the demo a whirl or 5.

Why do I have to wait 45 minutes for this? And I can't sihft-tab out because the timer stops... FFS.

Then you have several options-

Play the demo again and make sure you let the timer finish, or download the demo from Origin and complete that one(don't worry, you don't need Origin to run the demo, you can delete it before you even touch it).

I do know that I did complete the demo as I got the "You got Chakram launcher" message =P So who I can complain about this?

I'd REALLY hate to play the fricking demo again.

I broke down and installed Origin on a PC where I have faster internet access (and no download cap) than my home PC and downloaded it in parts last Friday and yesterday, pausing the download when it reached 0.10% before completion. I then copied the game directory under "Program Files\\Origin Games" to my USB flash-drive.

I installed Origin on my home PC, started it up, and closed it. I then copied the game directory to my PC and restarted Origin to complete the last little bit of the download and it installed successfully. So that is a way for people with limited internet access on their gaming PCs to do it.

I started the demo, and tweaked some graphics stuff which required a restart, which in turn lead to the "Cannot connect to EA servers" problem. I closed the demo, exited (not just going 'offline') Origin, and started the demo again and had no problems authenticating. Got all the popups during the game and after the 45 minute timer, and see both ME3 items in my entitlements page.

I had no crashes at all.

I also managed to play part of the demo in 'offline' mode, with a second character.

As for the game itself, it was very reminicent of Fable 3 (circles in the water are dive spots) without the stupid parts (making money, interaction packs, having spouses and kids) or bugs. The camera wasn't bad, as I've played games with way worse (Risen comes to mind). The demo definately made up my mind for me to get the full game.

I will probably use the same method as above to get the ME3 demo, so as to limit the time Origin runs on my home PC. The ME3 demo will determine if I get ME3 and allow Origin to run for longer times.

So, I was getting pretty frustrated about not being able to get the Launcher for a while now. I played it through twice on Steam, and that didn't work.. so I downloaded in on Origin, and after some time I actually got it to work there :P.

I did a quick playthrough and I just ended up slaughtering the village waiting for the timer to run out.. I had to go downstairs to get dinner, and when I got back the video had played and I could exit the demo. I went back to the page where you can see your DLC's and... Finally! It's there, so relieved.

So for people that still don't have it; try to download on Steam/Origin both, might work out for ya ^^.

Thanks Adhin, just wondering, have you checked here on BSN, that the armor and gun has been registered to your account!? :)

Yup I have, day after I played the demo, passed out after I played it for about 3 hours first play through. Got both of em just fine. Nice thing about the console versions are, if you've played any BioWare games at this point such as DA2 or ME2 your account here is connected to your gamertag. Basically your account here, is your origin account - its used for everything.

So the thing automatically logs us in with out us having to go through much trouble which is really nice.

The only real solution seems to be to download/play it again. You can just start at the next area, so you just have to play a small part and then you can tab out and wait for the timer to run out (don't forget to check in after 25 minutes to click the note about having 20 minutes left).

Hi. I'm on Xbox. I can't seem to get the items to appear on the "Your Registered Game Content" page. All my accounts' info are the same. I've, of course, played the demo and had waited until the timer had run out. It said in the game that I unlocked the items, but as I said, they aren't showing up on the page. Any suggestions? Thanks!

That's because the demo's on the Xbox 360, not Xbox. /justteasin

But being serious, that's odd. Check your information again. Is it the same gamertag? If so, play the demo again or...

honestly, I'm stumped.

Yeah, all the info's the same. Gamertag, email address, etc. Tried playing the demo gain but nothing popped up in the begginning saying I'd unlocked something like the first time around. Guess I'll try playing the full 45 minutes again when I have a chance and see what happens...

Not having Xbox Live Gold (How I miss Halo and Battlefield:crying:), I finally DLed and played the demo moments ago. I went into it expecting a single-player World of Warcraft with a more action-y combat system, and that's more or less what I got. A few gripes though:

-technical issues:I got the sound cut-off and dialogue skip bugs on occassion, though it wasn't as bad some other people here have gotten.
-lack of a jump button. I'm so used to jumping with abandon in games like WoW and Skyrim, not having one felt awkward.
-sometimes in conversation, the camera would suddenly switch to an awkward angle. Hopefully this will be fixed in final release.
-combat could get tedious and repetitive, though I'm hoping it gets better as I level up.

Overall, it was good, not spectacular though. Probably gonna wait until a price drop unless reviews and word-of-mouth are very good. I'm starting to wonder if Skyrim has spoiled me on future RPGs.

Oh, and I unlocked the two ME3 items with no problem, if anyone was wondering.

So I tried this, under 10 minutes to go and the game crashed. I'm going to try it again but just idle and let it run for 45 minutes, does the timer start once it gives the popup for the 45 minutes? Or do you have to do one of the quests in town first?

It starts once you see the popup (and close it!). Also, remember that 20 minutes before it expires you'll get another pop-up window reminding you, so make sure you close that one as well. Otherwise, you can just be idle while it counts down.

Well, the weapon still isn't on my registered content list. I'll wait for few more days before I try to contact EA's support.*shudders*

EA/BioWare, thank you for not tying the cross-promotional ME3 DLC to the purchase of a game.

Definitely. That would've sucked. I would've been fine though as I'm getting KoA, but still. Tying to purchases are lame. Tying to free demos are muuuuch better.
