The Origin/Steam idea seems to be working (at least got a friend of mine the Launcher this way). But strangely I can't login to the EA servers if I start the demo via Origin. No problems with steam though.

Muha I got it.
Tried it a third time on steam and disabled my firewall. Don't know if it was just a coincidence but it certainly worked for me.

Turned off the firewall, gave it one more go through Steam and voila... it's unlocked now. Thanks for the advice!

I don't want to sound too negative, but I was incredibly bored by this demo.
Nothing about this game felt new to me. It was a chore to sit through the full 45 or so minutes. (And I did it on PS3 and Xbox.... for Mass Effect
