Oh, man, that armor is HAWT.

I love the one Reckoning is getting (I thought it was the one for Mass Effect at first). It looks amazing. I'm not so keen on the one Mass Effect is getting though. The spikes look out of place to me.

Regardless, I'll be trying both demos out. Never hurts to get extra swag and be able to have fun at the same time.

This is promotional DLC done right: available to everybody, yet still able to promote other games.

Can't wait! :wizard:

Awesome! Been keeping an eye on Amalur for a while and having the N7 armour in game is shure to make me all giddy (and omni daggers ftw! I cut all 'dem foo's)

I'm gonna play both demos, although i don't give a a vorcha's a** about Reckoning retail/Digital versions since i don't plan to buy it on release, (unless reviewers give it over 9.0) i will be playing the demo for reck though, so i can add
those 2 extra ME3 DLC's extra's to my N7 Warfare Gear/CE's DLCs #onlyreasons i'll play the reckoning demo :)

Also a thought: does this mean the demo releases may coincide? January 17 for ME3?

Don't think it's the 17th, it wasn't mentioned on the Xbox Live marketplace preview by Major Nelson (which mentioned Kingdoms of Amalur demo for 17th). But i guess it's a sign that the demo will be out before Kingdoms of Amalur arrives-

When is it released?

Kingdoms of Amalur is out on February 7.

So ME3 demo will be released before February 7 right? Otherwise there is no point.

Any chance this will still apply when the full release of Kingdoms of Amalur hits? I won't have the opportunity to get my 360 back online until early March.

I kind of like the spikes actually. Granted they're kind of far out looking for Mass Effect armor; but we've already got lots of more sedate armor options already. So something with a less formal military feel to it seems like a nice change of pace.

This is worth repeating. Using cross promotional DLC to promote another game by getting people to try the demo succeeds in both promoting the game without alienating people who may not feel like buying into another franchise.

PS: Kingdom of Amalur is looking like a pretty badass game on its own merits.

This. Seems easy enough.

Kinda feel sorry for those with a poor internet connection though, might be waiting a while to get their hands on both gear...

Here are some more High Rez shots of the armors (right click for full size)....

First off 2 of the Mass Effect armors.

and one of the Amalur Armor.

I just hope that Bioware had the good sense to include the helmet toggle with it. I am hopeful though since the pics of the gamestop N7 armor have shown it with and without a helmet.

Of course I'd be thrilled if the armor was made up of pieces which could be mixed and matched with the N7 armor pieces.

No rage about the "lore breaking" omni-blade yet? Maybe people are finally learning. Well anyway, this is some good advertising. I hadn't even heard of the kindoms of Amalur, and now I'll surely be playing the demo.

Sweet, Reckoning is my second most anticipated game behind Mass Effect 3.

Well, I was already planning to check out Reckoning as is (rpg meets brawler? HELL YEAH) but if they wanna give me free stuff for doing it, who am I to say no?

That's fair enough. I might be a little biased on the subject, though. I always thought spikes looked really silly in armor, be it Fantasy or Science Fiction. But you raise a valid point. I'll give it the chance to change my mind once I use it in the game. :)

It's funny to me since, of what we can see of the armor, the helmet is actually what I like the most about it. :D

Sounds like they've learned from the business with the Blood Dragon armor.

Screw GameStop's pre-order bull****, this armor looks way better and it's FREE.

I better be able to take the helmet off of that armor. There's no excuse for Bioware to have not learned their lesson in this regard, by now.

That this was the very first response posted makes me smile.

Sweet! I was interested in KoA before this, so it'll be nice to play a demo and get more ME3 goodies as well.

Thank god it's a crossover promotion with a game I'm actually really interested in. I hope EA doesn't start doing this with other franchises *shudders at the thought of having to play a Madden game to unlock armor in ME3*

I say, thank you BioWare.....hell just for once, and you're unlikely to ever see me saying this again, thank you EA as well. Let's get these two great RPGs rolling.

I want to play Mass Effect 3 and Reckoning on PC. As a PC user, do I need to use Origin in order to be eligible for the Reckoning & Mass Effect 3 Crossover items?
You must create and log in to your Origin account in order to receive the Reckoning & Mass Effect 3 items, but you do not need to have the Origin client/installer. Also, you do not need to play the demo through Origin, but you will still need to create and log in to your Origin account to activate the Reckoning & Mass Effect 3 Crossover item entitlements.

Signing in to your Origin account simply registers that you’ve unlocked the Reckoning & Mass Effect 3 Crossover items, then when you get your full copy of Reckoning and Mass Effect 3, log in again and the items will appear in-game.
