No, like Skyrim(in some people's minds).

DA2 was just all around bad enough that I refused to purchase any DLC for it. Regardless if it was good or not.

I'm referring to side content in the main game, like side quests, assignments, random tasks, etc etc.

I mis-read side conctent as DLC for some reason.

No biggie. Just repost, haha.

DA2 was a huge improvement on DAO in terms of story...not just some cliche zombie story plus a dragon for effect. DA2 dealt with real and morally complex issues like conflicts between races and belief systems as well as just how far should fear drive preemptive measures in the face of a potential threat before it directly causes that potential to become the danger always feared.

Far better than: "Oooo.....bad guy, zombies and dragon over there, go kill." plus some really unbelievable and apparently random nonsense about a dragon's soul transferring to a zombie unless you absorb it yourself and die or have some ritual child to absorb the dragon's soul but the child doesn't die. Still a good story mind you but way too cliche and they were obviously trying too hard with the plot twists until they just lost the desired impact and left the player with the "are you freaking kidding me" reaction.

Gameplay and all the rest were looking great and didn't get in the way of me enjoying my story plus Hawke being voiced added to the immersion.

Just as much as your criticism of DA2.

If you think that the Blight was the only noteworthy aspect of DA:O's story, then I'm afraid you thoroughly missed the point.

Oh, that was only brought up because MarchWaltz misunderstood what I was saying earlier.

I mentioned that I got the feeling KoA would have better side content than its main story. By side content, I was referring to assignments, side quests, random tasks, etc etc. Not DLCs.

MarchWaltz brought up DA2 because March thought I was referring to DLCs. In the brought up case, DA2's DLCs being better than the main game.

I had to shoot it down afterward. Image IPB

So yeah, back to that original point, its this sinking feeling that KoA's side content(most of what I've heard about is from its main factions) will be its best asset.

Dunno know.

Oh yes plus some more cliche villains trying to get more by eating puppies and betraying kings plus revenge subplot.

Hopefully it's along the lines of the way side factions were handled in TES games.....long quest lines with solid rewards. At least this is an RPG....a good mix for a cross promotion, no that they did bad in cross promoting with Dead Space 2 which I still enjoyed very much or with the DAO cross promotion. Hopefully the Blood Dragon armor transfers from ME2 to ME3 if you have it.

They made me nervous for a while there after they announced the early demo access for Battlefield 3 purchases.....a cross promotion with trash like that would really suck.

I believe they stated all weapons and armor from ME2 would carry over, unless I'm mistaken.

I'm sure on weapons, not sure on armor.

Anyway, yes. KoA=RPG. Makes me happy. I think it was Machinima saying that we needed a new RPG franchise out there that was heavy on the elements we usually attribute to RPGs since lately, franchises like Fable and Mass Effect have been RPG-lite and more Action-Adventurey.

Again, missing the point.
I personally found the Oghren/Branca storyline to be fantastic.

Fable's popularity makes me cry, sometimes.

It's not that they're bad games. It's just that they seem targetted towards an audience that's a few years too old for them...

I love the Fable games. But I do wish they had a few more of those elements usually attributed to RPGs.

I think KoA will satiate that desire for me.

A good bit there sure but that wasn't the "point" of the game.....a small piece of side story in a piece of the game is hardly the "point". DA2 did much better in both overall and side stories.....in particular "An Act of Mercy" and Aders's whole mess stood out really good.

Funnily enough on Tuesday I'll probably be patient as hell and then when it shows up be like, "Oh. Okay, time to give it a whirl."

The 'point' was that a story like Origin's is really mainly there to tie the usually much better minor plots together and give you a chance to explore them all.
Like a frame tale.

I'd much rather have a solid frame story than a bunch of good bits that would be unrelated if it weren't for a crappy main frame and besides DA2 didn't lack in good subplots being tied together.

A well-executed cliche story is still better than a badly executed less normal one.

Hey guys, can we move the DA2 discussion to the DA2 boards? Hell, I even have a thread related to KoA and the DA franchise in there.

Lets try to keep this thread specifically KoA/ME3 related. I don't want any of the higher ups saying we're off topic or anything.

I love Fable 1. Never played Fable 2. Disappointed with Fable 3 (because of how they simplified/mainstreamed the game).

KoA:R should be what Fable could have become. Pretty hyped for it.

Just want to ask do you have to have both demo's installed to your PC, 360, PS3 in order to use the promotional content or can you delete both demo's once completed and still have the promotional content, just want to know thanks

You can delete the demos after completion, but PLEASE, just to make sure you have your items, check your entitlements page here on the forums BEFORE you delete anything.

You should have the items listed there for the appropriate game and platform(again, remember that you must play the demo on the same platform you intend to have the items on).

To check your entitlements page, look under the Profile section to the left of your page, and click "Your Registered Game Content".

The new items should be at the top of the list.

If not at the top, they should still be there.

Fairly sure once you've unlocked the content, it links to your EA account, permanently. As LPPrince said, check to be certain, but once it's there, it should be safe to delete the demos.
