Of course, it's a good thing.

Add to that Todd constant input on animation poses and things like finger movement, joints, flesh movement, foot pivot points that most animators ignore (and often did till he pointed it out). Games gonna rock.

doesn't xbox live let gold members download demos first, and then those with silver memberships have to wait a week to get new demos?

On the side note, I also love Kain/Soul Reaver series. Another good news.

Usually they'll specify if that's the case.

Then again animations in a game it can be difficult to notice every little thing anyways. Seeing one of the big red ogre dudes walk outside of the game, just seeing the loop animation is pretty crazy with all the detail. Trying to pay attention to that game when your dodging around is another story all together.
Hell I barely notice it watching videos of the game due to all the other stuff going on.

Bad animation is easier to notice, however. They usually feel awkward when you see them move.

Wait....there are still people on XBL that only have silver membership? I guess if you just created the account it takes a few minutes to get it gold and what not but other than that why would anyone do that to themselves? No party chats, apps, DLC and demo wait time and all the rest....unbearable.
Why would anyone subject themselves to paying for that service when PSN and Steam (which is so better) are free?

I have a PS3 and PSN....which I can't stand....no parties or any kind of social networking(most don't even have a headset) and navigating its store feels like chewing razor blades. As for Steam....too unstable...some games have acceptable DRM others do not and then you have the last chapter of a trilogy not even being released on Steam anymore and the only alternative is spyware so thanks but no thanks. XBL is still by far the best service....paid sure but well worth the price. I'd rather pay for XBL a million times over than tollerate the problems of the alternatives.

Seeing as how ME3 is suppose to have multiplayer which you'll have to have Gold for, it gives them all the more reason to offer it to them first.

Agree, we get what we pay for. Not to mention except for a recent incident where people had their points spent by hackers, there haven't been too many major problems; unlike Sony getting hacked and you pretty much being in charge of your own security for your PC (numbers will tell you that fails a lot).Darth_Trethon wrote...

Getting back on track, I'm staying up all night to the the demo so I can unlock the ME3 stuff, I'll sleep when I finish it.

I loved picking up spears in Soul Reaver 2 and impaling people on em, good times that. Either way im just going off what the interview stuff was. Todd isn't doing the concept art. He shows up at Big Huge Games every week and they go over all the new art assets, animations, cut scenes, all that stuff and he gives his input. More like a teacher in that respect. Actually pretty fun to listen to in interviews, his actual condition for joining 38 was that he wasn't going to do concept art for the game
He didn't want Amalur being 'Todds game', he wanted to have an overview role to help make sure everything looked good and over the top (in awesome ways, not awkward ways like... some games >.>).

As far as what you said for Todd, the same goes with RA Salvatore. He lets the dev team bounce ideas off him, also like a mentor.
(God, time is moving so slow, really want to start downloading the demo already)

And I don't like Uncharted animation. It's ok but its floaty as all hell. Drives me batty. And yeah a lot of the high ups there do that which I think is the BEST way to handle things. They do some good stuff there and most of the animations for Reckoning are hand crafted. They do some mo-cap stuff for cutscenes here and there (as its a different animation team).
But yeah all the combat, monster animations all gloriously hand crafted with tons of detail. Delicious.
