Ahh no its called an opnion Incognito JC, and trust me I've played 'a lot' of games. An absurd amount in fact. I've heard the floaty-bit with Uncharted not just from my self though. It's not so much the animations it's the main characters movements though I should clarity. he's very... rubberbandy.
ME2 almost has that trouble actually, when your just standing there and you want to walk to the left sometimes Shepard will kinda JOLT to the side like hes full sprint for a second and it gets all awkward. Uncharted just kinda took that as a base mechanic all over the place. The character has a tendency to dart quickly. Just my personal taste getting in the way there either way.
And yeah definitely doesn't get old. I mean it is an RPG, you will be spending time just in a town, talking to people doing other stuff. So there will be moments to break it up. And really, even if there wasn't to much of that awesome is awesome.

His rubberbandy movements are done on purpose though. It's called the follow through and overlapping action. Makes the animation more natural, I feel. Just don't jerk Nate around on purpose
ME2 has some awkward animation, totally agreed. But it's really not quite the same with Uncharted's.
Wonder if KoA:R's animation would have this issue.

Nah there walk animation transitions, from what I've seen, are a bit more stiff. And a lot of other games have that overlapping action. I think my main issue with it, while the animation it self looks smooth on its own, the speed and angles at which the body are usually at don't necessarily match up with the physical speed of whats happening in game.
You know? Like your walking, then you do a quick turn left, instead of them just quick-turning they almost do that run-skid turn. I never quite got why games only had the 1 turn animation when they go through the trouble of having walk animation and run animations. Hell I've seen some games that have a creep -> walk -> jog -> run -> sprint (usually with a button press for sprint). And almost all of them only have 1 jolted 'we expect the player to always be sprinting' quick-turn animation.
It's a stupid pet peeve of mine I know. It's not really that big of an issue but I always frown disapprovingly at my screen when I see it.

@Adhin: I think this issue lies on the scripting part. It's not easy to program such minute changes on the movement speed to tie to appropriate set of animation. You have to get rid of that pet peeve or many games will irk you for no reason

I actually already have a character planned out for my first throw down with the full Reckoning game. Not sure if I should start off with that for the demo to see how it goes or try out pure builds first. Considering how much stuff there is to do in just the demo though I'll get to try all kinds of stuff out.
My current concept for first character is a Might/Sorcerer (battlemage) using a Great Sword and Chakrams. I really want Meteor but apparently that maaay take 70 points to achieve which would mean not hitting top-tier Destiny for that.
Either way I wanna work Mark of Fire into air-combinations. Hit with 2H, pause-upswing them into the air, cast a mark of flame as they fly back, attack with Chakram - pause, attack again causing my char to fly back as he tosses them out. Detonate the Mark - BOOOM.
-edit-
heh Like I said I've played a lot of games, i'm well over 60k on my gamer score if thats any indication (only ever get about 500-ish per game) and thats just the 360. That's not counting the late 80s, early 90s, playing everything I could get my hands on. Modding in the mid 90s and all that good times.
I'm good at ignoring my pet peeves I guess, like I said its usually a frown, mild chuckle in the head at its absurdty... then its back to shoot and or hacking faces gleefully.

@Prince: There is a JoAT fate/destiny thing actually, you have to put equal points in all 3 skill trees or something.
For me I'll just go whichever path on the skill tree I like for the first time, not planning to plan any builds

Oh how wild and free a life you both live! I can't do that... I'm to much of a stat freak to the point I plan builds for game systems that aren't out yet =(
Sometimes I wish I could just... play and see how it goes but I just can't. I gadda plan, I can thoerycraft the hell out of everything. I got it written down in a document right now -.-
