Good to see it's not like the Dead Space 2 / Dragon Age 2 cross promotion.

You had to buy DS2 to get items in Dragon Age right?

Yes.

Brilliant. They're letting me play a demo of a game I hadn't heard about. Whoever thought of this should get a promotion.

Worked for me:

1) thought "WTF is this game?"

2) googled "kingdoms of amalur"

3) found that it's RPG (probably ARPG)

4) saw this line " Ken Rolston, the lead designer of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, acts as the game's executive designer" on Wiki

5) got super excited (always happens to me when I see word "Morrowind")

6) decided to keep an eye on game

I'm also thinking to make blind LP of that Demo.

Game looks interesting.

I'm not even gonna look it up. I'll play it without any knowledge of the game.

Takes me back to the SNES days when I bought games because they had nice box art.

Bravo to EA/Bioware, this is exactly the kind of promotion that benefits both the companies and the customers.

This is really cool. The fact that its tied to a demo is even better.

I've already pre-ordered my copy of Kingdoms of Amalur before any bonuses were announced. So this is just a bonus for me as it were.

Nice, looking forward to trying the demo out next week. I still hope there might be a DS2 inspired armor or Star Wars inspired armor.

If I play the demos on different platforms, will I still be eligible for the Reckoning & Mass Effect 3 Crossover items? (For example, Mass Effect 3 on PC and Reckoning on Xbox 360.)

No, you must play the Reckoning and Mass Effect 3 demos on the same platform to be eligible for the crossover items.

Darth_Trethon wrote...

You
can download the demo on 360, play & unlock and then delete the
demo and you'll have both the items unlocked at no cost to your HDD's
remaining space.

Thanks for the heads-up guys. Unfortunate but I guess I understand.

I really wish my HDD wasn't so tiny though. I don't think I have enough space to download the demo at all. Seems likes my DA:O DLC is gonna have to go bye-bye now. :pinched:

That'll complicate things for me because I won't be able to receive or pick up the game near release date so I'll have to go have a talk with the post office and hope they cooperate :crying:

Yeah, pretty much same thing for me as well. But I'll wait for the reviews to come before I decide whether to buy it or not. Combat looks nice, hopefully the plot can be just as nice as well.

I was already interested in Kingdom of Amalur before this promotion came out. My worry since I cant spend alot of cash on games at the moment is if its a good game to get or if its just all hype that makes the game look good. Now i can try the game out for 45 minutes and see if its all hype or if the game is actually good.

Good job Todd. It's got a similar vibe as the Eddie Frank incarnation of The Redeemer. I dig it.

Having it tied to the demo instead of buying the game is a nice touch.

I hope we won't have to keep the demos installed. i usually don't have a lot of space on my xbox hard drive.

No you won't....once the items are unlocked they are added to your EA profile entitlements see "Your registered game content" under "Profile" to the left of this page near the top. Once that is done the demo's presenceon your HDD becomes irrelevant.

cool, thanks for the info

BioWare's hands are tied....EA is the one forcing spyware on fans but beyond that there's little reason not to continue enjoying Bioware's games on a console. Playing a free demo isn't too much to ask for free awesome content is it?
