This game is The Witcher 2's ugly little sister. It's not bad but it's not good. Here's hoping alt-tabbing counts towards the 45 minutes because I've had enough of this.

And why does this game need two conversation systems in one? Couldn't they choose? I'll make it simple: Th dialog wheel is pointless in voiceless conversation. Paraphrases were there to keep the flow going. This game also feels an awful lot like an MMORPG which wouldn't be a bad thing if it were in fact an MMORPG. And why does every sentence have at least two neologisms? I don't even remember a single one of them, except Amalur.

KoA demo made me want to kill myself. I lost hope in humanity's progression, by playing that game.

Looks like Fable 1, feels like it, is even more annoying AND it's going to be released in 2012. Best thing i can say about that demo is that it made me NOT want to buy this game. It's like it shattered all the hopes i had towards the game into small, sharp pieces and the stuck it so deeply up my ass i can feel my flesh being torn apart inside my body.

Animations are RIPPED from Fable, you can feel that every time you swing the sword or dodge - practically exactly same moves that makes you wonder, if all the characters and mobs in the game are made of paper.

Terrible inventory system, you have to jump through couple of screens to select that ONE item you want... for now. Then you will have to do it all again.

Also nasty bugs, like camera screwing up IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FIGHT, targeting system with the bow now working properly AND "Forward" key locking from time to time when i start the conversation, which makes all the options flash and jump from one to another making it impossible to select the one you want (it took me a while to figure out WTF is going on).

Add this to as generic fantasy world as you can imagine + completely uninteresting storyline, AND THEN throw in characters so boring, they make Buzz Killington look like Willie Nelson on morphine and BAM! Here is Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning! BEHOLD!

Post Scriptum: I had to go idle to finish the demo, so i could get bonus item for ME3. I just sat in one spot, smoked a cigarette and pretended KoA is just an ugly screen saver that will go away when i'll move my mouse.

It didn't.

bit of an overeaction, is it not?

Also thanks Wolfsite. But how do you know for sure if I can delete the demo since it's not telling me I have the items on my hard drive...where would it say that I have acquired them for my account?

Thanks Omega.

If I were to play the demo again would it have the pop-UPS about the items again or no? Because I might just do that just to be sure...

I don't think they'd pop again, but at least it would give you something to do if nothing else.

I really like it. It's what fable should of been IMO. I like the art style. Maybe the PC version isn't as good as the xbox version but I like it. I do agree the inventory is a bit of an annoyunce

For those who unlocked the stuff already, does it unlock for all platforms like the pre-release ME2 and DRA2 stuff did? I don't want to have to beat the demo twice on my PC and 360 just to unlock ME3 content.

so I just played the demo. I think this game's okay and has some potential, but nowhere near a must buy for me now. Maybe when it goes sub $20 I'll take another look, but for now at least I'm not impressed.

I'm not sure if this question has been asked and answers, but I need to know just because I need to know.

I finished playing "Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Demo" and it said I will get the Reckoner Knight Armor and The Chakram Launcher for Mass Effect 3 when I get the game, but do I need to keep drive the "Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Demo" on my hard drive? Or can I delete the demo? Or will that cause me to lose the Reckoner Knight Armor and The Chakram Launcher?

Also how do I know for sure if I got the Reckoner Knight Armor and The Chakram Launcher?

Does anyone know?

The items get linked to your account so you don't need to keep the demo on.

Hmm. Items arn't showing up yet..... guess I'll wait a bit, Xbox players got them soon enough.

Thanks Wolfsite. But how do you know for sure if I can delete the demo since it's not telling me I have the items on my hard drive? Also where  would it say that I have acquired them for my account? Which site?Posted Image

I'm basing it on the DA2 Demo, the items got linked into my account and then the demo got deleted once I was done playing it.

I'll check to see if the items have shown up before I give a link.

Edit:

Okay just go to the side bar and select Profile, then select "Your Registered Game content" from the drop window, all items registered to you on the account will show up.  So if you see the ME3 items from the KOA demo listed you should be fine.

Hmm, still can't login to EA server, the incoming mass must be enormous :)

Got the same issue here, but restarting the PC solved it.
Also, I haven't start it through Origin, the demo asks you to log in with your account anyways.

That is so it can link the promo items to your account.

It is an immense overreaction. This demo was fine. It wasn't the best game-omg-ever! But it was decent. It was fun, you killed ****, you could do some custom stuff and go pew pew. It was a bit generic on it's story line, yes, but it wasn't BAD as superman 64 and the like. That is totally over reacting.

You played the demo, got your ME3 stuff, don't worry about it. And if that's how you act for the demo, my goodness you'll be one of THOSE people when ME3 comes out that picks apart the whole thing.

Story line is pretty generic but I love the thought of playing as someone who doesn't have a fate and can change others around him/her. It just appeals to me. I mean the main story may be generic but R.A salvatore wrote like 10,000 years of history for amalur and they said that if something doesn't fit into the world then he or this other guy would throw it out. There is no "O a wizard did it" solution to putting something in to the game. Almost everything has a history to it they said IIRC.

Were people expecting a full game with the most deep and immersive story and perfect combat?

The demo was good and especially loved the combat. In comparison to Skyrim the story is more interesting and combat simply better but it isn't as big as Skyrim from the looks of it.

Then again its a freaking demo so I'm expecting more in the full game that I may get used sometime later. I have too many other games on my list now.

Overall the Demo was fun, took a moment to get the hang of it but once the Tutorial section was out of the way I can see there is a lot of depth in terms of play style content.

Didn't have any camera issues, did have some sound delays and the occasional texture pop but the demo may be based on an earlier build so these should be addressed when the game is released.

Demo was god, some minor issues with camera and freezing sometimes when combat music would start but that's it. If I decide to get it it'll probably be after ME3 is out.

Ya, I just relized that it's stupid IMO to judge the story line before full playing it. I am going to try to get it on launch I'm thinking if I really enjoy the demo. I am so far. Had to start 2 new chars cause my xbox froze and didn't like my last one so still in the training area atm. I got to that fate card guy last time. ALSO idk if it's in the demo but I want an auto loot
