I played the demo, killed all the villagers and guards, went into a shop and killed the shop owners and the other guards. That got my time down to two minutes and I went ahead and clicked on a gate to open another part of the world and what do ya know......... the stupid game crashed on me.

So I started it up and went to go watch some TV. A much better experience and I got a weapon for ME3 with it. Uninstalled.

Anyone having a "failed to connect to EA servers" problem? I've been trying since yesterday and still can't connect.

Have you tried allowing it through your firewall? I had to on mine. Right when I started the steam version it asked me to do it.

Yeah, allow it through your firewalls, that's worked for someone before.

Here's my character in KoA's demo(pic taken with an iPhone up close, so its not as clear as if screen capped)-

Posted Image

You stole my Dark Elf design, my female Dark Elf looked exactly the same well without the lip piecing but still overall the same to mine from last night.

Well, I keep recreating the same character for my demo playthroughs, and seeing as I played the demo when it first came out, perhaps you "borrowed" MY Dark Elf.

hahahaha

I had a feeling you would say that lol, but i went with that hair style because it seemed to look the best with the skin tone. I dont think ill be playing the demo ever again, I will wait until I can get the game later this year.  I continued the story only to have it end for the demo so had to resort to the side quest to finish my time.  Than when i saw i had no time left to finish another quest and only 2 minutes I was like time to slaughter the towns folks. Like how you have to press up on the D-Pad to allow yourself to murder people

Well I just downloaded and tried the Amalur demo on Steam. All I got for my trouble was some menus, sound and a black screen. Apparently I need to do something to "fix" the demo, that doesn't work out of the box. The game may be good but if I can't see it how am I to know this?

Actually though after getting the demo I've been wondering if in order to get the ME3 bonus materials do I have to play the Amalur demo in the format wherein I'll play Mass Effect 3. That is would I need ME3 for the PC to take advantage of the Amalur demo which I just, you know, failed to play at all? I thought maybe it would produce a code or something but all it said was that the items would be "available." My apologies if this has been asked before, as you can see I don't come around here too often. Good day to you.

Normally I go with long hairstyles, but that one just looked perfect to me.

Dark Elf with light eyes and hair- WHAT!?

And a tattoo? What is this?

A piercing too?

Griffon appears to be a seductress. Perhaps she's evil, even. But what if she's neither of those things and she's nice? What if she's a combination? What if she's chaotic? Neutral?

Im having the same problem as well, I have checked my firewall and av settings and everything is aok with them, I have tried it both with the origin demo and the steam demo and both have the same cannot connect to ea servers error message :( (looking at the amalur board it seems a few folks are having the same problem as well).

Most likely you have a ATI graphics card go into the options and disable post processing and it fixes it. Haven't see n the post myself but they said this is fixed in the live version.

Just found you can't alt+tab out of the game on pc and just have the time run down. Brought the game up and then set a timer for 30 minutes and went back in and checked the time and I still had 31 minutes left on the clock.

The best part of the demo experience for me was seeing the ME3 unlocks show up in my account.  Just seeing that 3 and knowing that I have content waiting for me adds to my anticipation.  Also, I'm impressed by the speed of when those unlockables showed up.  Immediately after the game said, "Contratulations" those things were there.

I played the KoA:R demo merely for the bonus items. I had no intentions of actually caring about the game, as I've already got three others paid off between February and March.

And now, after actually playing it, I'm finding I quite enjoyed it.

...dammit...

Just played through the whole thing unlocking the Armor and Launcher!! and all the other goodies for KoA. Pretty fun, Some pretty good difficulty spikes by the end even on normal, although the mobs are super easy. The quests seemed pretty good but it does seem like a really large world to take in all at once, and the stylized art isn't particularly my thing. Camera was also a little wonky and a few glitches here and there of course. The customization and crafting seems pretty deep all things considered which is a big plus for me definitely

All in all pretty good and I stand by my original $30-$40 range for me (would not buy it used I think it deserves to be put back in the devs hands at least. It just didn't quite click with me to have it as a day one sale or full price sale

Bloody hell... does this mean I'm going to have a funny-lookin' suit of armor in ME3 when I get around to playing that one, whether I want it there or not?

These crossover promotions are starting to annoy the hell out of me. What's wrong with a game simply being a game instead of a vehicle for every OTHER game on the planet? Or a way for companies to "gather telemetry" so they can perform their "targeted marketing" tricks...or sell that data to some third-party spam-artist?

Starting to suck the enjoyment out of games with all these tricks, guys. :/ Not impressed.

For everyone having account troubles.... I had problems too. I logged in successfully the very first time, but then when I started KoA up after that I got the "failed to contact server" warning. I made sure KoA could create inbound and outbound connections on my firewall... but I still got the warning.

I just finished the demo, and I do indeed have both the armor and the chakram launcher. This might be nothing more than a false error message. I'd say, make sure your username and password are correct in the login screen, then X out of the login screen when it comes up, rather than opting out.

Because its sooo bad to to help other game developers out by giving them and their game more attention.

"Help out other game developers?" Please. KoA has all sorts of marketing and "star power" behind it already, so don't make it sound as if altruism as ANYTHING to do with this. This is EA pimping EA, nothing less.

One game is now "every OTHER game on the planet"?

Hyperbole being lost on some members of our audience, evidently, I'll just state it plainly: Cross promotions annoy me.

There.

There is always someone that has to look a gift horse in the mouth.  Free stuff for trying something else out. What a terrible thing for EA to do.Posted Image
