Bloody hell... does this mean I'm going to have a funny-lookin' suit of armor in ME3 when I get around to playing that one, whether I want it there or not?
Don't like it ? don't use it, problem solved

Because "free things" implemented poorly negatively affect my experience with the game, that's why. I started Origins for the first time with something like 20 "free items" that I didn't particularly want. Thankfully, Origins at least gave me the chance to get rid of them.Cloaking_Thane wrote...

"Help out other game developers?" Please. KoA has all sorts of marketing and "star power" behind it already, so don't make it sound as if altruism as ANYTHING to do with this. This is EA pimping EA, nothing less.
why do you care about free things again?

What's wrong with a game simply being a game instead of a vehicle for every OTHER game on the planet?
One game is now "every OTHER game on the planet"?

Hopefully ME3 will do the same.

POSITIVITY TIME!
The Faeblades in the demo were unique, but I thought it was funny that after looting them, I found another pair of Faeblades(normal ones, this time).
Wish I could acquire them earlier in the demo. I had 18ish minutes left by the time I got them, and no chakrams were found in that time, so I reached 1/2 of my goal in my 4th demo playthrough.
I don't want to play the demo too many times. Would ruin the moment in the final release.

OFFERS of free stuff are more than welcome. The heavy-handed and artless shoving of free stuff down my throat, not so much. To date, what I've seen are the latter rather than the former.Darth Malice113 wrote...

I got them both on the first playthrough.... Chakrams purchased in the inn, Faeblades looted from the Fae quest
I will say that I probally won't use these items in my playthroughs. But I don't outright hate them or find them tacky. As far as I know none of these items are being shoved down our throats, they're optional. If you want them go get them. If you don't want them don't get them. What are you complaining about?Magnum Opus wrote...

I don't expect anyone on these boards to agree, and that's fine.If you like the way it's handled, great: I wish you all the enjoyment in the world, I really do.
I just find it tacky.

Chakrams were about how much?
I'm trying to decide if(in a FIFTH playthrough) I should go through the Fae Quest, get the Faeblades, sell a bunch of crap I colleced along the way, and then purchase the Chakrams.
Heheheh... I think it pretty obvious that you're not the only one that likes it.LPPrince wrote...

Am I the only one that likes a lot of in-game items in my preorder deals and Collector's Editions? I want extra stuff to use in my game, so I love free stuff.

There are always going to be other opinions floating around out there, though. In this instance, mine happens to run contrary to yours, that's all. I was curious about KoA, though, and the VERY first thing the demo did to me after I logged into it was pile on three such "bonus items", two for KoA itself and one for ME3 of all things. The KoA items... sure, I can see how they'd want to entice gamers to buy KoA after playing the demo for it. But ME3? Way too random.

How can one find out if he actually got the DLCs?
because i downloaded the demo but i dont know if i actually got the contents.
If they're really optional and don't send me scrounging around for a deep dark hole in which to drop them, then I'm complaining about nothing at all.Darth Malice113 wrote...

I didn't know that, but thanks for the warning (and there's not a hint of sarcasm in that statement, either. Seriously: thanks for the heads-up)LPPrince wrote...

Of course. Differing opinions make the World go round.
By the way, you know that for completing the ME3 demo you're getting items for KoA as well, right?

Am by no means certain that will be the case, though. That's mostly just due to the way things have been handled in past games, though, as I've mentioned already.

I'm already 99% sure that I'm going to be getting ME3, though, so that demo's not really much of a draw for me. KoA was more questionable a game, though, hence my trying out the demo.
