OK for those of us with EA's Digital Download know that the backup system is riddled with problems.

My particular issue is that even though I tell Origin to keep the installer after download it never does and EA's tech support solution was to have me redownload and hope it saved it next time...that didn't work.

But I've recently found that some people do get their installers to stay but have other issues with getting their digital download to backup. So I was hoping to try and cobble together a solution and see if someone can send me an installer file for Dragon Age 2, Dragon Age: Origins and/or Mass Effect 2.

This is the installer file only, the file that should be 2-3 MB and will auto delete on download completion unless you find a way to save it (which I haven't been able to do) and if there is any doubt that I have those games you can look under my avatar and see I do have each of those games registered with BioWare.

Or if any of you found a way to backup the games successfully I would be very interested in finding out how.  For DA:Origins sake alone! That is a 27GB monster to download each time!

Thank you to anyone with any info!

I use a lot of Origin games, Origin (formerly EA Download Manager) and Adobe Air do need to be up to date. Now to save those installers here is how I do it. Download the game. When it says "ready to install, I copy the file to my backup drive, then install it.

Thanks for the info, Adobe Air is up to date on my computer. On future downloads I'll snag the file at that point.

Just make sure to COPY, not cut and paste the file, the original has to stay where Origin put it to install properly. When you need to reinstall pop the backup copy in the origin download folder, then attempt to DL it, it will check and in a minute or two go to ready to install.
