Hello,

How does a non-city elf Warden gets the city elves to help defend the alienage from the darkspawn?

When I came through before I spared the head slaver in exchange for him giving up everything-including freeing the elves in cages.

So I'm guessing more is needed.

The elves will automatically help a city elf Warden. But for other wardens they can be talked into it. Talk to Shianni in the alienage.

Not sure how high your persuasion needs to be though.

If you have maxed coercion you can persuade shianni to get them to help you.

Thanks for the point but it didn't seem to work with max coercion and 27 cunning.

It may be that you have to kill Caladrius in order for the city elves to help you during the Siege of Denerim. I never let that bastard go, and I always managed to persuade the elves to help me. (Then again, by the later playthroughs I was so experienced that I usually just tell the elves to get to safety instead.)

Tried killing Caladrius and unfortunately they still didn't help fight, any other suggestions?

27 Cunning may not be enough in that case.

Why do you need the elves to help so badly?

In all honesty I don't need it-I usually don't (I usually don't call out armies either). I occasionally have tried calling for different armies-sometimes just to see what they would be like.

But I wanted to try to get the elves to fight (I wasn't planning on using them as cannon fodder) and picked dialogue options with Shianni that shouldn't have made them leave-neither called them cowards nor told them to leave for safety-and I'm surprised its being this difficult.
