Just curious, I was going to compile a decent number of entries into a Word doc to make a .mobi out of to read on my Kindle, since that's easier than at the computer for me. Is anyone specifically interested in being included OR in getting a copy of the .mobi file when I have it ready? All stories will include their title and BSN username for credit. ^_^ (Cross-posting this to the main contest thread as well, just in case.)

Go for it.

Added! As of tonight, the compilation includes, in the following order:

The Last Meal - Thargorichiban
Past Entombed in the Present - BrennaCeDria
ALLUVIAL SOLACE – Tryynity
Na Mortius Lerno Libertas - Shadow of Light Dragon
The Right - OdanUrr
No Regrets - tklivory
Halamshiral - Corker
The Assignment - RagingCyclone
Flight of Ice - Ryuu814
Attonement - bunny_girl1022
Remembering - AmbraAlhambra
Dragon Age: Staff of the Dragon’s Flame - pidi
Inevitable Fate - Saqqara
Full Many a Rose - motomotogirl
Penitence - ColorMeSurprised
Remnants - Fortlowe

I'm still trolling DeviantArt for a handful of pieces I'm going to consider for the "cover" and once I have at least five picked I'm going to start sending emails begging to be able to include at least one of them for the file. I'm also toying with the idea of reordering these based on mage- or templar- POV, but for now I think just the order that I'm given permission to include them seems like the fairest plan.

Always There
Author: Quinnzel

Abstract: (I hate these things!) We all want for things in life. We all need for things in life. Whether it be for money, safety, drink, love, power or simply being able to see the next day anew. Our desires, our temptations, our choices, shape us, even if the end isn’t always how we want it. For a runaway Mage and an Ex-Templar, their needs bring them together. What they do with those desires, those temptation, those choices, will inevitably decide their end.

CC: Eh, if ye be wanting.

I'll look forward to reading through it. How many pages is it running at the moment?

Mercutio Meresti is Not a Clever Man ((Link))

Author: t3hTwinky

Constructive Criticism Requested:
Please don't shatter my illusion of competence.

Synopsis: Wifeless, homeless, and broke, professional peasant Mercutio Meresti is accused of a terrible crime. He uses his wits and cunning to weasel out of one punishment only to stumble into another, but fooling the Templars
and the Circle of Magi should prove no trouble for a clever man. There's just one problem:

Mercutio Meresti is not a clever man.

P.S.

Thank you for putting all the stories in one place for everyone to read.

P.S.S.

Brenna, you can add mine as well if you want.

Hah, adding yours now. Have to say, the last line of your synopsis has had me giggling since I first read it. :P

Edit: We're at 84 MS Word pages. Not sure how it's going to transfer when I get the file changed over to mobi/epub/pdf.

Title: Whispers http://archiveofouro...rg/works/326305
Author: jillyfae
Reviews, crit, comments, whatever.  All are welcome.
Abstract: The voices that hover on the edges of hearing whisper to us in the night.  In that instant between day and night, between sleep and wakefulness, we are vulnerable.  Thoughts of temptation and duty, conscience  and fear. And underneath, a boiling, bubbling, yearning desire to be free.

And feel free to include in the collection going around, if you are so inclined.  I don't mind either way.  ;)

Thanks again for doing this. Incidentally, half of my synopsis is missing on the first post (and, the , um, substantive part). I believe the whole thing is still well below below 100 words ... Would it be possible to get that fixed? Thanks! :D

EDIT: Thank you! :wizard:

Hello all,

As the list of contest entries grows longer and longer and almost all entries posted here would like come feedback, myself included, i find myself in a bit of a predicament -- namely that I wont have time to read through all entries to the point that I can give any useful feedback. (SWTOR is currently eating up all my time ^^; )

I do want to give feedback and as such i have come up with an idea that would allow me to squeeze in the time it takes to read through a story on a level to give feedback. So here's the thing, I propose a feedback exchange. You just let me know if you want to trade some feedback and I'll get right on it -- and by feedback i dont mean something like "its good" but more an in depth feedback :)

If more then one person things that this sounds like a great idea, i will go through the list of ppl from top to bottom, in the order people let me know they are interested -- even if i end up reading through the whole list of 400+ stories heh ^^;

Not sure if this is the right place for this or if the main thread would be better but all the same ill post this here for now ^^;

Let me know what you guys think :)

I'm up for it. I used to do op exchanges on amv dot org back in the day for new vids all the time. :)

Edit: where do you want your rev? Email, PM, etc?

I only have a handful to my name, all Final Fantasy based. The only one to get significant views on YouTube is "Everything for Rinoa" and though I can see the appeal to the happy-ending-ness of it, I don't think it's my best. Anyway, I've got a copy of your story saved, but I'm about to send a PM with some questions before I get started on reviewing it this morning. I want to make sure I'm looking at it in the right context so I'm actually being constructive. :)

I was wondering, can I change my "constructive criticism" option to "Yes"? My story has been up for awhile and I haven't gotten a single, solitary comment and it makes me sad ;_;

I commented! Or at least, I think I did.

I have a question too though, SoLD's first post indicated that it was recommended we not post our stories online before the final winners are announced? Why is that? I've been refraining from posting for that reason, but I would love feedback on my own entry.

@wangxiuming -- Crap, I totally forgot to change that (done now). Originally we had conflicting info on whether or not it was ok to post stories before judging had finished, but we did later get solid verification that going public is perfectly ok. So if you want to add your story, there's no risk. :)

Also, I will get to reading and commenting...eventually... >.<
