Just a quick question: is it just me, or did the 1.23 patch actually render the OC almost unplayable? I mean, I remember playing the game a lot before this patch, and it wasn't this buggy. Now I spend half my time in console trying to trigger buggy scripts. What in the Nine Hells is this trickery?!

If it's not just my imagination and the patch does mess things up, what's the last "playable" version? I'm willing to downgrade!

I think it is just coincidence. I would bet no one on earth has played the OC as much as me (I?) and I have seen no greater frequency of the script failing bugs. The thing is, when something goes wrong I know it immediately, so I don't play on for hours with implanted eggs ready to hatch.

Now, given the coincidence of several people having trouble around the same events (Issani/Imposter) lately, I wouldn't be surprised if some popular mod is to blame - or possibly something about installing without the original three disks (either Platinum or digital download) ...

Must be my luck then. No mods, and all three original DVDs are right over there at the top shelf, so... ah to hells with it, I'll just hope for the best =)

Installing Storm of Zehir tends to play merry hell with the OC and MotB. Patch 1.23 was supposed to fix most of the introduced bugs though.

I guess the key words here are "supposed to"

I've played the OC quite a bit too without many issues so sounds like you just have bad luck.
