Does anybody know where a bestiary can be found which says which rare items are dropped by whom, and when/how if applicable? I can't find that information anywhere.

the official guide has this information. there's a section on weapons, and it tells you where you get what, i believe.

Wow, I'm surprised nobody has typed that onto the series of tubes! Most guides I see for RPGs are pretty much straight from the official guides.

So in a nutshell: bummer.
