Is there a max number of upgrades? For example I have 4 damage protection upgrades I can buy one more for 90,000 and find one on the Shadow Broker DLC. Before I spent the money I wanted to make sure I could have 6 shield upgrades.

They keep adding to your total, so no limit.

If you get all the DLC there are six of each weapon upgrades, 6 damage protection, 6 skin weave, 6 biotic, 6 tech. I usually end up with over 200,000 credits even after buying all the stuff - the DLC helps with the money.

^ Not quite. Depending on the path you take on Zaeed's loyalty you can have either 7 heavy weapon or 7 assault riffle upgrades. And no there isn't a limit to the number of upgrades you can have.

Doesn't the shadowbroker give extra weapon upgrades, so can't you in theory get to 7/7 on all weapons?

LOTSB let's you get to 6/6... there is the Heavy Pistol Damage in Dracon Trade Center, and the terminal on the ship can give you the other ones.

You can get 7/7 with Assault Rifle if you do the renegade path on Price of Revenge.

I thought if you revisit the shadowbroker base after each mission there are "packages" waiting for you. Sometimes it was like 1000 element zero others it was upgrades.

I don't really know for sure though. I usually finish all the missions/side missions before the Suicide Mission, so I only have to do LotSB and Arrival to be done.

Yes, that is what I was saying. The terminal on the ship gives you the upgrades, and you can get Assault Rifle Damage, Shotgun Damage, Sniper Rifle Damage, and SMG Damage... after a day passes or you do a mission. But that is the 6th upgrade not the 7th for most weapons. The only one that can get to 7 is the Assault Rifle and that is only if you take the renegade path in Zaeed's mission.  And as noted above, the Pistol upgrade in LOTSB is not at the delivery terminal on the ship but rather in Baria Frontiers on Illium.

@strive  LotSB is a bit of a pain to get all the upgrades.  I did a thread about it a year ago.  Thread here.

Basically, to get all the "good" upgrades

(1) Either let a physical day pass ( on PC you can change the date - this does not work on xbox ) and revisit the broker base.   Save just before "Get Delivery".   Get delivery - if its not a weapon upgrade then reload that save you just did.  Repeat until you get a weapon upgrade - It has taken me sometimes 10 reloads to get a weapon upgrade.

(2) The other way to do this is to get a mission complete screen - by finishing an N7 mission or any of the main missions, then use the save/reload procedure in (1).

So I usually do LotSB around level 24 so that I have plenty of mission complete screens to work from ( I play xbox ).

Just an editorial comment - people who get the 7 AR upgrades are bad people - letting those workers burn just isn't right:)

@ryoldschool: I think I remember hearing of an exploit for PC users. Landing on the Normandy Crash Site planet (even if you've already placed the monument before) and returning to the Normandy 2 counts as completing a mission as far as the Shadow Broker deliveries are concerned. I'm currently unable to confirm.

That is what I have heard.  It also advances crew dialogue.

I am a little confused now. Should I do Shadow Broker now so I have time to get all the upgrades or wait? Where do the upgrades go after the mission? The ship? You are saying I can save go back to shadow broker and try and see if I get a weapon upgrade and just reload if I do not?

The upgrades are delivered in the Shadow Broker base, in a termina left of Liara. After you pick them up you can research them either on a terminal on the base or on the Normandy. Whether you do the DLC sooner or later is up to you though I recommend you do it sooner

And in order to get all the upgrades fast just zoom in Hagalaz, exit the galactic map, save and then enter the ship. If you don't get an upgrade just keep reloading until you do. You can do this each time you complete a mission until you get all of them.

Thanks man, it seems you can also change the date on your ps3 and that will let you get all the upgrades without having to leave to do a mission?

When you "Accept Delivery" on LotSB base after the mission is over its just like you found the upgrade - you need to go to Normandy and "research" it to apply it.  ( Like FJVP says you can also do it on the special console in the broker ship  also ).  Once you get the sniper upgrade, for example, it will not appear again - no matter how many times you try.

So via Daily Delivery you can get one shotgun, smg, sniper, AR upgrade, in addition to a bunch of minerals.

I suggest you wait to do LotSB when your character is leveled up enough to be pretty powerful.  I've done it right after horizon so I could get the upgrades right away, and I don't recommend that.  That is because LotSB, Collector ship trap and Horizon are the most interesting parts of the game, imo, and I like to space them out a little bit.

I usually do LotSB around level 24 and its nice to have  somebody with area overload, cough, Azure Parking Lot, cough.

I don't know about PS3, but on xbox you are logged onto xbox live when playing the game and even if you change the date on xbox, once you signon to xbox live it resets to the correct date/iime- that's why you need a mission complete screen

@ryoldschool Thank you for the information. So, I complete a main mission like say Overload maybe then get to the mission report screen I can make multiple days pass by? Then I need to go back to the shadow broker base and hope to get a weapon upgrade? Then what I do I do? I am sure I am just being an idiot but I am having trouble understanding how you use the mission report screen to keep getting weapon upgrades.

Ok I didn't see your above message. Looks like I will just have to do the Shadow Broker base somewhat soon to get all upgrades. So, basically I need to do while I still have 4 Squad memember missions available. I am going to do Jacob and then do Shadow Broker. Which will leave me Zaeed, Mordin, Thane and Garrus and should let me get all upgrades. I will also have Arrival and Overload so I think I am ok.

^ No problem.

This logic is available on the Shadow Broker ship if either a) you get a mission complete screen OR a physical day changes since your last visit.

(1) Get a mission complete screen - either a main mission or N7
(2) Return to the normandy.
(3) Visit the Shadow broker base. Walk right up to Liara, save the game, save 100 ( for example ).
(4) Accept Delivery. If its a weapon upgrade go to step (7)
(5) you got here if the upgrade was just minerals - Load save 100.
(6) You are now standing next to Liara, accept delivery again. If its a weapon upgrade, go to (7) otherwise go back to step #5
(7) Return to the normandy, go to Mordin's lab and research the weapon upgrade.

I was typing my message and missed your last post. Its not really a problem as long as you have some N7 missions left - any of those will do. What messed me up when I first tried this was I did not realize that they mixed in sooooo many mineral upgrades in with the weapon upgrades. Really, I've reloaded 10 times or more to get a weapon upgrade. As a side note, sometimes the minerals are pretty good if you do not use a cheat. I once got 80,000 units of one of the minerals, another time 40,000 units of Ezero.

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this. One last little thing I want to make sure on, you have been more then clear but I take it a loyalty squadmate quest does not count as a main mission or a N7 mission? Thanks again.

Loyalty missions will work fine - that's mostly what I use.

You can beat the game without retraining the squad or getting more than 5/5 upgrades...

But yes, might as well do it early if you want the upgrades to be helpful. It is also nice to remove the point that goes automatically into a bonus power on a lot of the squad though.

To further clarify a point above, anything that gives you a "Mission Complete" screen will advance the "clock" with regards to crew dialogue or the Shadow Broker terminal.
