Nope. We disagree on that brother.

Definitely do not agree on that end.

It boggles how unimaginative it is to assume alien must mean unnatractive.

It's not unimaginative, it's a biologically correct analysis.

Ok let's not say unattractive. Let's say ugly. Better?

Is there anything (animal, vegetable, mineral, or protist) on this planet other than humans that humans find attractive? No? Why, then, would you expect anything different on other planets with completely unrelated life forms?

Oh there are so many things I could say here but would get the topic locked. I'll just say, yes there are non humans on earth that find humans attractive, and your statement is also flawed as you do not take into account there are no other sapient species on earth.

Also dude, video game. checked the Garrus and thane LI threads lately? Apparently aliens are attractive.:wizard:

Then why is the garrus and then LI's so popular? Even if they are unnatractive (in the pure sense of the word that there is no sexual arrousal from looks, which there are those in the garrus and thane LI's,) people still find their li's attractive due to personality and character.

And seeing as how none of the ME squademates are "ugly" why would it be bad that Tali might have an alien face?

You mean that when humans write aliens that are basically mentally and physically human to appeal to other humans it appeals to some other humans? I'm shocked.

Indeed there are, although that leads into subjects that are not fit for this board.

Also when we are talking about aliens, I was assuming that we were talking about aliens in the classification such as Garrus, or thane? You know the only aliens that are LI in the ME universe?

I don't even want to think about what topics are considered unfit for BSN.

So that proves it right? it doesn't matter how the aliens in Mass Effect look like, people will still find them attractive because of their human personalities.

Tali has a human personality and I'm sure people will still think she's attractive even if she looks completely alien.

We already have blue human-like aliens in Mass Effect. We don't need a purple human-like species. Let the quarians be more alien, please. It will make things better. Human-like quarians is so unimaginative....

I know that at least the shape of the quarian's eyes and nose are human-like, but the rest of the head could be completely different. I would like it if that was the case. No copy-paste from humans please.

Unimaginative? Says you.

I hope Bioware does make them look human. It would be a proper twist, and it makes the Quarians more relatable on a tragic level.

Who the hell is talking about being attractive versus not? If Bioware played up the idea, I think it would be a proper tragic twist to the Quarian's plight. You wanna see great alien design? Use google.

I'm no more interested in seeing how alien the designers can make Tali's face look, then I care to browse Deviant Art.

The whole Geth thing basically.

Like humans, the Quarians are/were ambitious. They meddled with AI and it bit them in the ass.

Now they are tethered to their suits; unable to touch one another out of fear of developing an illness. They are culturally stagnant because they no longer have a home-world and are limited to roaming the galaxy, while scavenging space junk from other races. And to top it all off the Quarians are regarded as fools for their great folly: creating the Geth, which means they are not respected by the other races.

Human ambition is mostly frowned upon by the other races, and it has been pretty miraculous that they haven't f'd anything up yet...like we are known to do. Having the Quarians appear more human-like should make them more relatable; more tragic, and their folly the shining example of what could happen to humans.

The problem with humans in Mass Effect is that they seem invincible. Mass Effect 3 strides to make them appear vulnerable with the Reaper Attack. And I for one would think it would be great to keep hammering in on the desperation by weaving a story more about despair than typical human resilience. Human-like could be a heavy reminder that their are consequences for our actions, and if handled correctly it could be one of the more emotionally driven plot twists in the Mass Effect series.

Cerberus is an example what comes when you strive too ambitiosly to the end no matter what the costs. For humanity at least.

This is what I would be ok with, but no more human like than this. Like the drell, this is alien enough without being too human, tough still tredding near the "Star Trek" limit of unimaginitive races scale.

I think this one is good, i would definately go with it. It's for male quarian, Kal'reegar.

First one might work, but the second one is too different from what we know about their face.

And what exactly do we know about their faces? We know they have eyes, lips, human like nose, at least for Tali it's kinda pointed, doesnt mean other quarian noses could be different shaped like humans have. We know they have "ear analogues", but thats about it.

Still they can't go very far from that and the basic shape will be the same.
