I hope bioware will grab a look at some of the better fanarts, and maybe shove those pictures into a bundle and see what would be best. :) Not to Human, not to Alien, but a fine mixture. Then again its pretty clear a Quarian got eyes, a nose, and something that is close to lips.

If they are doing it and I hope they are, it will have all ready been comfirmed and put into the game. We just have to wait and see. =)

i can imagine them doing it something like shepard accessing footage from an injured quarian's helmet showing kai leng shooting their squad while infiltrating the flotilla and the camera showing some of the quarians with broken helmets allowing the player to see their faces....or something like that

As long as they are not space elves.

I'm not so sure - I kind of figure that there will be massive fan rage if they do show her face, as no matter what she looks like, 90% of people will automatically hate it as it doesn't match the personal image in their mind.

There is no way to avoid fan rage at this point, also your 90% number has no meaning as you have no data to support it.

There was already fan rage at bioware trolling people when they revealed sheps face to SHEP without the player, not showing it will make fan's rage, showing it will make fan's rage, making tali too human will make fan's rage, making tali too alien will make fan's rage.

I will support bioware at whatever they do, but I will be very dissapointed if they don't show it.

This.

"Oh nnnNNNNnnnNnnNNNNNNnnnnooooOOOOOooooOOOOOoooOOOOOOOOOO! Space elves!"

Tali could look like a night elf, a dunmer, a twi'lek, a klingon, an australiopithecus, a chimpanzee, a lemur, a cuttlefish, a cnidarian.... if it even has one inkling of a human-like feature people will say she looks like a space elf.

Just let Bioware make the Quarians look like what Bioware wants them to look like... <_<

Keep the face hidden. Bioware had their chance to reveal Tali and they wussed out. Now it's too late. Show us some other quarian so we at least know what quarians in general look like, but keep Tali veiled.

The wisest thing to do on their part would be not to reveal what Quarians look like. Ever. But seeing that Mass Effect is taking the Star Wars route, I'm sure we'll soon have a "expanded universe" comic, or short, or anything, in which we get a version of Quarian face that nobody is happy with <_<

Count me in the "no more space humans please" boat. I'd f*cking hate if they looked like Space Elves. There is this fan made art of Tali's face that looks just like that. God, I hate it so much, and I hate how popular it became.

The reasonable thing would be to make Quarians to Turians what Asari are to Humans. I mean, they already share food chemistry, and there is Grunt's comment on them being "not so soft...", so by logic they should have a familiar appearance.

Actually everything we know about Quarians suggest they look closer to humans than Turians. Even her face place holder is very close to human. Here from the mass effect wiki:
"Quarians have an endoskeleton, lips, teeth, and two eyes with eyelids
and tear ducts; they also have three thick fingers on both hands which
include a thumb and an index finger, as well as three toes on each foot.
Their lower legs are bowed backwards significantly, compared to asari
or humans. Aside from hands and legs, their general body shape and
sexual dimorphism is similar to humans. Their ears or ear analogues
differ in a noticeable fashion from those of humans, with references
made to "what [passes] for the quarian version of an ear".

That Dextro DNA thing don't mean anything regarding the looks. Look at the Salarians who can eat human food or look at the biodiversity on Earth. They'll probably look something like this.

she's hotImage IPB

hope thats how she'll look like in ME3

This image was chosen by Bioware as one of the winners of a fanart competition in SDCC. If they chose that, I think (just a guess) Tali wont be that different from what we see here.

And even in the codex of ME1, it was already stated that Quarians were similar to humans.

Works for me. You can clearly see a humanoid nose under the helmet and this looks closest to any possible portrayal I've seen yet. I have seen some far out ones too.

The pale skin makes sense with a lack of exposure to light IMO.

This arguement never makes any sense to me. Either show the face of the one you've actually had with you throughout three games or don't show them at all. You'd have just as much rage from upset fans if you showed them another character but not "theirs" and it wasn't up to their standards for the approximation of how Tali "should" look.

No they can't do that unless they are going to keep the quarians in suits forever. Though to be honest, I'd be fine if they did this.

I'd like them to show us what quarains look like in general just so that I can accurately picture a quarian character I create. Or so the artist or the writer can.

Well, NOT showing the quarian faces in ME3 also isn't an option, since that too will cause certain fans to start raging.

Whatever BioWare does, they're always gonna ****** off a certain group of fans. ALWAYS.

Personally I don't really care what Bioware makes the Quarians or more specifically Tali, look like. I just want them to reveal the Quarians because I think that'd be pretty cool and I'm interested to see.

Let the uber-fans rage I guess if they don't like the look Bioware gives them. Development will be over and done with so it's not like it'll matter anyway.

Truth.

Though Bioware not showing the faces is still an "option". It'll probably just be the option that pisses off one of the larger groups (speculatory).

Well personally I'm pretty easy on this. I don't care what BioWare decides for the quarians, as long as they DON'T turn them into cliché super hot World of Warcraft Night Elves in space. I'd absolutely hate it i BioWare turned the quarians into space-elves and every time I see fan art of a space-elf Tali I shake my head in disbelief. I can't understand how some people would want the quarians to look like purpe space-elves. -_-;

How?

The whole Geth thing basically.

Like humans, the Quarians are/were ambitious. They meddled with AI and it bit them in the ass.

Now they are tethered to their suits; unable to touch one another out of fear of developing an illness. They are culturally stagnant because they no longer have a home-world and are limited to roaming the galaxy, while scavenging space junk from other races. And to top it all off the Quarians are regarded as fools for their great folly: creating the Geth, which means they are not respected by the other races.

Human ambition is mostly frowned upon by the other races, and it has been pretty miraculous that they haven't f'd anything up yet...like we are known to do. Having the Quarians appear more human-like should make them more relatable; more tragic, and their folly the shining example of what could happen to humans.

The problem with humans in Mass Effect is that they seem invincible. Mass Effect 3 strides to make them appear vulnerable with the Reaper Attack. And I for one would think it would be great to keep hammering in on the desperation by weaving a story more about despair than typical human resilience. Human-like could be a heavy reminder that their are consequences for our actions, and if handled correctly it could be one of the more emotionally driven plot twists in the Mass Effect series.

While I undestand your story, I think you are flat-out insulting our intelligence.

You assume that we (and with "we" I mean the Mass Effect players) need the quarians to look like humans in order for us to be able to relate to them. This is of course absolute BS.

I don't need the quarians to look like humans in order to be able to relate to them. In fact, I think human-looking quarians would be a completely cop-out . I would be the easy way out for BioWare. It would be cliché and it would even break the suspense of disbelief for some.

We already have the human-like asari. Please, let the quarians be alien and not too much human-like.

From the Quarians' masks we can see two glowing eyes and a prominent nose, so we already know that they are more like humanoid aliens than monster aliens. I do think the designers should avoid giving them purple skin or pointy ears like in most fanart, otherwise they would look too much like Night Elves.

Agreed. Although, I never found the "Hot, and sexy" in Night Elves, I always played Male, anyway.

I do care a little more about the opinion made by BioWare.

Although, yes. They're always going to ****** off some fans, but hey. What can you do. The majority votes for something unique.

Even with that sad, the decision they make on Quarians, will not effect my choice to buy this game. I'm buying it nevertheless the choices they choose.

Its just a matter of roughly understand how we humans process information and our cultural patterns.
That is why there will be much less nerd- or fan-rage if Bioware makes (in the case of Tali) an grey-alien-human hybrid version of a young liz sroka (her voice actor) then a night elf looking like a Jjessica Biel.

Its shallow. Signifies fast food popculture and no real artistic integrity or imagination.
In short: bad taste.
