Err, okay. It does depend on which level of science fiction we're talking about. However, in Mass Effect interspecies relations are a thing.
That being said, my point is: except for the Asari, Mass Effect does well in avoiding the "multicolored space people" stand regarding aliens. And creating yet another species cut from the same cloth as the Asari would be just lazy.

other point was (sorry I get derailed): If you're playing Mass Effect and the only thing you can find hot are humans and Asari, stick to them and don't fall in love with an alien, and then demand they make them more suited to your tastes. Don't freak out at the possibility of them looking like turians.
