As far as I am concerned, romance means obligatory sexual intercourse, otherwise it's called friendship. So, Garros-romancing femsheps are, as KaidanK noted, fetishists, and it isn't really about maturity: it's about bizarre sexual preferences. If Tali ends up looking as alien as the Turians, all Talimancers sort of become involuntary fetishists. Which is wonderfully trollful but hardly the wisest choice of all.Siegdrifa wrote...
I don't agree, it is possible to devloppe a love story between Garus and fem Shep, so the tolerence on aspect can be higher than that.
Also, the message is clear in ME, what bring aliens together (friendship / love / goals) is more intelectual and less physical.
Is Tali mature enough to pass on the physical differences to get in love with Shepard ? i think so, she have high estime for him / her even as a friend, so, no doubt she care more for the inside of Shepard rather than the outside.
Just my opinion.

That's all I can gather. Pale cause they never see direct sunlight and Tali's nose (shade/shadow)always seemed a bit large behind the faceplate in ME1.
You can derive anything from the way she looks through that mask. They might not have an pigmentation system that behaves like that of a human and the nose might just appear that way as an effect of optical lensing.
Yes, BUT, since we know NOTHING of how they actually look, that was my best guess.
Obviously, I could be WAY off, but I think my logic is sound enough. I don't think optical lensing would have THAT large an effect.

You have to consider mixed race people are mixed race due to adaption from to much sunlight, but even when moving to somewhere such as England they stay... Even their children, they wouldn't adapt out of it.
The point is, Quarian's could be green under that suit from the genes and their skin might not have meynaol. In it, which is what makes the skin change colour. (I spelt meynaoloe wrong just saying.)
Yes, but, again, I'm going on my "best guess" logic. I never said, "THIS is what they look like." I said, "In My Opinion."

You can't judge anything really from what they look like from outside of the helmet. It's just a foundation for the developers to build on. They haven't even got a clue what the Quarian's should look like yet. I've been doing some research.
http://masseffect.wi...om/wiki/Quarian
But, I've noticed all different things from different Quarian's along my travels, it never matches up, the only thing that is consistent is the Eyes.
Agreed.
Cybernetics or naturally reflecting light/glowing? I dunno. We know they have some cybernetics.
Where's the cybernetic info coming from?
Maybe they're like Vin Diesel.

I just wish they give Tali a resemblence to her voice actor.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the Salarians the grey aliens?

As much as people want to say "no more space-elves" or whatever. YOU PERSONALLY may be able to look past the face of an ugly alien, but what about the MILLIONS of other players out there? I don't feel like digging through the rest of the thread, but someone already pointed out that human's are instinctively racist. EVEN WITH OTHER HUMANS. How long did it take for us to finally *somewhat* acknowledge that skin-tone isn't indicative of standing/intelligence?
I will personally handle whatever they throw at me, but do you really think BW is going to throw out some wierd-looking alien face and risk a drawback from customers? I have a picture of a fat, 17 y/o white American throwing his headset on the desk and whining to his mom that Tali is ugly.

It seems they where intended as such, but they turned out to be coloured bipedal salamanders.
I am talking about something less amphibeous and less colourful.

All sights of the "Grey Alien" were at night, for all we know they could been a light shade of blue, or an omnius colour not visible to the humans eye.
As the human's eyes wave lenghts don't extend beyond a certain colour schemtrum.
Although, that's not the point. I'm happy with the Salarian's being the "Grey Alien" they look like it, just not the same colour.
Salarians are a naturally scientific race, and condut stealth operations while conduting on of these on earth before we discovered mass relay, it could have been the case that one got seen one time.

The wisest thing to do on their part would be not to reveal what Quarians look like. Ever. But seeing that Mass Effect is taking the Star Wars route, I'm sure we'll soon have a "expanded universe" comic, or short, or anything, in which we get a version of Quarian face that nobody is happy with <_<
Count me in the "no more space humans please" boat. I'd f*cking hate if they looked like Space Elves. There is this fan made art of Tali's face that looks just like that. God, I hate it so much, and I hate how popular it became.
The reasonable thing would be to make Quarians to Turians what Asari are to Humans. I mean, they already share food chemistry, and there is Grunt's comment on them being "not so soft...", so by logic they should have a familiar appearance.
"Quarians have an endoskeleton, lips, teeth, and two eyes with eyelids
and tear ducts; they also have three thick fingers on both hands which
include a thumb and an index finger, as well as three toes on each foot.
Their lower legs are bowed backwards significantly, compared to asari
or humans. Aside from hands and legs, their general body shape and
sexual dimorphism is similar to humans. Their ears or ear analogues
differ in a noticeable fashion from those of humans, with references
made to "what [passes] for the quarian version of an ear".
That Dextro DNA thing don't mean anything regarding the looks. Look at the Salarians who can eat human food or look at the biodiversity on Earth. They'll probably look something like this.
she's hot
hope thats how she'll look like in ME3
This image was chosen by Bioware as one of the winners of a fanart competition in SDCC. If they chose that, I think (just a guess) Tali wont be that different from what we see here.
And even in the codex of ME1, it was already stated that Quarians were similar to humans.
That looks about right.

Just to be clear we didn't naturally assume people were stupid 'cause of a different tone of skin. We never gave them the chance to learn anything which actually made them STUPID.
It was rare to have seen a black man with a book back in that time. In most cases many white people couldn't even read.
Humans are not naturally instinctivley racist, that's just how we're brought up, so if you're racist blame the place you lived in, your parents and your friends.
If you're American and this is a Stereotype that is very true, you're one of the most racist countries in the world, 'cause of the place you grew up.
I however did not grow up with that attitude and have always accepted other people no matter how they look.
But, the point is it's not "Natural" and any human born into the generation of "2148" (Maybe wrong) in Mass Effect is bound to be less racist.
The point is every person that has a racist upbringing are the only ones that are going to be outraged.
Another point to be made, a lot more people are exploring other life styles now they is more freedom in society less racial hate, less social hate. Therefore proving it's not instinctive at all.[/quote]

Them looking similar in a sense to Thane. Nice mix of both. Drell come in all sorts of colours. Lol.

Agreed. Personally on the sliding scale of alien/human appearences while still being at least partially in line with the placeholder face, I would prefer something along the lines of the drell.
The drell are extrememly human but maintain an alien appearence.

A lot of people share this view point, I think.
If it's a choice of having Tali look very alien-ish, therefore, hideously unattractive; or having her conform to a humanoid look in order to make her appealing, I'll go with the latter.
I'm all for crazy looking cool aliens, just not when I'm romancing one.

No need to be rude about it, dude. I'm aware that she looked like a night elf but I hope it's not the half tenticle headed image on the 1st page. All humanoid aliens in ME share similar traits. All but the Drell have 3 fingers (Drell have 4 since their ring and middle are fuzed) and NONE of them have hair. That's annoying to me.
Her eyes appear to glow anyway as do all Quarian eyes and their face has a very human structure to it. The nuse and eyes look the same. Her profile looks human as well so why not go the extra mile and just make her look like a different colored human with some extra lines on her face of something? There was a different picture I was lookin for but couldn't find.

I wrote that comment, not AlexXiV.
I did not mean to be rude, I'm just sick and tired of Talimances wanting Tali to look like a beautiful night elf in space. It's so cliché and so Mary Sue-ish.
I think (and hope) Tali will look more like this:

Yes, she's bald and I think Tali will also be bald. Why? Because she's always in a suit. I think if a species lives in suits for 300 years, they will eventually become bald or at least bald-ish.

Yeah. Screwed up the quote. Sorry, dude.
Actually I'm not quite fanatical about Tali. I'd rather they didn't show her face at all because I know they won't please all of the fans so I feel it's best to leave it up to the imagination of the player. I posted that picture because that's what I personally would prefer. Since they most likely will show her face though, I'm gearing up for disappointment.
I also don't tend to use realistic analysis when dealing with a game about fighting godly space aliens.
