After the credits, we see a cut scene of the reapers sitting around a desk, discussing how to bring humanity to it's knees, and one of them suggests sending someone back in time to create a soulless corporation and have it buy Bioware...

You save everyone from Reaper threat, you have taken Earth back and when you think the credits are going to roll this line pops up "all of this has happened before and it will all happen again". Battlestar Galatica starts playing filling you in on them importent questions that ME3 didnt anwser.
And Tricia Helfer, if her face was the blue orb or inside the blue ball thing when speaking to EDI ME2 would be a 10

Shepard, Ashley, Liara, and Joker are the only ones aboard the Normandy. Shepard sits at table waiting for the others to join for a long period of time while the song 'Don't stop believing' -Journey plays throughout the ship. The first to join him is Ashley, they exchange a few words before Joker arrives. Shepard takes a glance outside one of the Normandy windows paranoid that he spotted a nearby Reaper, who have wiped out the rest of the galaxy, it's been months but Shepard believes they may be hunting for them still. Liara meanwhile has taken a shuttle and is struggling to park it alongside the Normandy to board.
Shepard closes the shutters to the Normandy windows overcoming the unease feeling he had just moments ago as the three of them chatter. Liara has boarded the Normandy and with the sound of the Normandy's doors opening Shepard glances up as the song reaches "Don't stop-" and the screen fades to black.

It turns out the Reapers are really some kind of quasi-mystical/quasi-religious order deliberately manipulating organic life in order to produce a universal super being who will theoretically be able to manipulate space time in certain ways that inorganic constructs like the Reapers are unable to do. With every iteration, they draw closer, but they aren't there yet. This iteration wasn't supposed to produce anything special, but there is Shepard. And Shepard IS the universal super being. Something that we spend ME3 proving to the Reapers as we smack them down with our growing quasi-mystical space magic.
Also, I think another "worst" ending would one in which there isn't a wide enough range of possible scenarios to allow for most players to be satisfied that they can achieve something close to the type of ending they desire. People who want a mostly happy ending should be able to get something close to that. People who want the noble sacrifice should be able to get it. People who want to watch the universe burn should be able to get it. Honestly, there are enough variables, that there should be room for all those endings. I've heard there are as many as 8 possibilities.

I think I ought to bump this to see how what we know compares to what we speculated.

I can't think of a worse ending than "It was all a dream".
Depending on how you interpret the post-credits scene, that might not be far off.

No need to think of the worst possible ending. Bioware did already. Can't beat that.

The irony would be if they looked at this thread and said " Didn't u guys want something like this. U wanted EDI romance, we gave u EDI Joker romance"
