Could have a "Lost" like style with the whole eye opening, then eye close -excuse the reference if you haven't seen it haha-Eudaemonium wrote...

"Take Earth back".
I suppose that will be the final mission or what not, a battle on Earth or near Earth. People who know, please don't spoil. I am just putting in my 2 cents.
I think that's fairly likely. It would make the story fill a nice loop.
I meant the story of ME3, not the story of the series. Seeing as they are so adamant ME3 be stand alone, then i doubt they'd link back to Eden Prime for the finale (though they might have a mission there, or an MP map).

They really have been hyping up this whole "Shepard's development as a character." Im interested in seeing how this is implemented and what it actually means. Its intriguing because in the frist two games Shepard, either male or female, Earthbron, Colonist, or Spacer, Sole survivor, war hero, or Ruthless, all Paragon or all Renegade, or a hybrid Paragade or Renagon (how I play), Shepard comes across as very blank canvas and lacking in an actual personality or expressive of emotion and feeling, and I mean in terms of feeling like an actual 3 dimensional character, as opposed to a puppet for the player. For most Mass Effect player, myself included, who are more than used to this type of protagonist form years of RPG playing and have big imaginations cultivated by even more years of playing with action figures and such, this has not been a problem because we all enjoy filling in a personality and identity for our Shepards that goes far beyond his actions and choices in game and is actually what we feel informs them and gives them and emotional connections and expression. Because of this I wonder how the experience of role playing as Shepard will be if the actual in game storytelling is somehow elevated to a point where Shepard is more of a character and less of a puppet.
Defintly intersted in this as well but i think i can imagine how it can be done. they have already sort of done it. as you mentioned we have a habit of filling gaps while our shep may notparticuluar express his/her feelings that's how i have always felt a soldier should act like whether he's a spacer , colonist , etc but it's his reaction and the choices he makes and how he deals with people that makes him seem as he does but shepard's a soldier and most importantly than all a leader he can't express things in a way that any other team members do however we have seen moments like Lair of the Shadow Broker where he/she shows a slight wave of emotion which i always find great and would be more welcome in ME3 but all they have to do is to include more of those scenes where he shows off emotion by choice and most importantly make him deal with tougher and graier choices that both challenge him and show who he trully is

Marketing has been pretty much "look Shepard has a omni sword now, look he's hitting people with it! boom bang, preorder from Gamestop! New guns, new armors yada yada yada." Theres almost nothing on character interaction and so, the intresting stuff, I doubt it would have spoiled the game to see some character interaction scenes...

That's one of the things that got me worried. It was like this for DA2's marketing (if they showed enough we would have noticed there's only 2 locations in the entire game).Armass81 wrote...

For ME2 there was a new trailer every month.

Yeah...but judging from all the ME3 trailers (Fall of Earth, Squad Leader, Against All Odds, E3 playthroughs, CE trailer, and the pre-order trailer), there is obviously a variety of levels. No recycled areas here, they learned their lesson of that with um...*cough*...
Mass Effect 1.

That isn't strictly true, since none of the trailers actually had in-game stuff in.

I hope its just marketing and not a dumbing down of everything RPG thanks to the casual gamers. class leveling and skilling is the most important issue because we know the story is pretty solid annnnnnnnnnnd they've got action up the didgeridoo.

ME 3 or DA 2? because ME 3 has the squad leader trailer, its just that the camera is flying around and not attached to the characters.

This fascinating article from The Guardian actually discusses a study that states spoilers increase anticipation for a film.
http://www.guardian....l-film-spoilers
As fans who have followed the story closely, we want to know more. And once we're given a tidbit to whet our apetites, our hunger for the entire meal grows greater. Keeping everything under tight lock and key is actually detrimental to creating hype for the game.
