Never got around to playing the majority of the DLC for this game. I was thinking of playing through Golems, Lelianas, and Witch Hunt after I beat the game then after those DLCs do awakening. Good idea or no?

Let's see here..
Watcher's Keep - During your first big " Whoa, I love this game!! Time to go venturin!" - moment.
Return To Ostagar - About halfway through the game perhaps.
Golems - You really wanna do this well before beating the game imo! Perhaps as you are heading to meet em dorfs anyhow would make a good moment.
Leliana's - Never touch this, makes the experience worse.
Witch Hunt - Never touch this, makes the experience worse.

Do the in DAO stuff first. Doesn't matter what order you do that in. Then I suggest taking this warden and importing him/her through the following path. It's the import path for your Warden so he/she can be imported into DA2 with all possible flags.

DAO > Awakening > Golem > Witch Hunt
Song and Darkspawn you can play whenever.

Why? Golems is tough. It is the hardest part of this entire game. It makes it somewhat easier, and I use that lightly, by having a Warden coming over from Awakening.

They're all worth playing once assuming you bought the UE and already have them. It's debatable beyond that.

The order I do them is:
Origin
ostagar
lothering
circle tower- recruit wynne
shale's recruitment dlc
redcliffe
urn of sacred ashes- but I don't heal Eamon til before the Landsmeet...has zero effect on the story.
nature of the beast
soldier's peak - get the warden commander armor
paragon of her kind- recruit ohgren
golem's memory - shale's side mission
return to ostagar - get the king's armor n other badass items
landsmeet
final battle
awakening
golems of amargorrek
witch hunt
anytime you want;
leliana's song - only do this once
darkspawn chronicles - only do this once

If you want to make use of the DLC items for those that aren't part of the main campaigns (leliana's song, darkspawn chroncles, golems of ama, witch hunt) you should probably just do them asap. If you don't want to be spoilt, just skip the conversations.

Warden's keep should be done when you get the ore to make starfang - mainly for convenience. You can really start it anytime you feel like though, the items you get can be upgraded when your character hits the required level to upgrade, even if you did it at a low level. Same for return to ostagar.

Stone prisoner should be done soonish after lothering so you can decide if you want to use shale.

I like to experience the story in the 'correct order' and so always play the game and DLCs in the following order:

Leliana's Song

.......Core Dragon Age Origins....
Warden's Keep
Return To Ostagar
The Stone Prisoner
......Continue with Core quests......

then

Dragon Age Awakening
Golems of Amgarak
Witch Hunt

I've never played Darkspawn Chronicals and have no real desire to do so.

It's important for me to play Witch Hunt last as it represents the final act of my Warden before his story ends.  Warden's Keep comes first because it makes sense (to me) for my Warden to secure this base before embarking upon his journey.

I know other people like to delve into the standalone DLCs at the same time as the core campaign so as to get the items, but for me this breaks up the esential flow of the story.
