So after I played Kasumi's loyalty mission last night, I went into the codex and read the entry on grayboxes. It said that grayboxes were, "released them onto the market in 2140, grayboxes were hailed as a way humans could level the playing field between themselves and the salarians". Problem is, humanity's first encounter with aliens was the First Contact War in 2157.

Oops.

Interesting, ... I will have to check on that myself when my next playthrough is coming.

Someone's got to fix their timeline if that is correct, muehehe.

It's a proofreading error.  Check the talk page:

Hi, I'm the author of the offending codex entry and you guys are right, it should not read 2140. It should be 2160. 204.50.199.4 23:18, May 17, 2010 (UTC)

And if you do a lookup on that IP address, it traces back to Bioware.
