Now from what I hear when you do missions and other exploits in the upcoming ME3 multiplayer called "Galaxy at War" this adds to something called War Assets. Apparently by gaining these assets you have a better chance of effectively fighting the Reapers in the final battle. A part of me wants to stick to just single player but if ignoring Galaxy at war risks my final outcome i'll have to do it. What do you guys think??

Yes. What I want to know is if I can play multiplayer before finishing the game without contaminating the single player. I'm more worried about it giving me a 'better' ending than my playthrough deserves.

The only thing I know of is that importing your MP character is completely optional.

Yes, you can. You'll have to do more in your game to achieve it, but it's definitely possible.

Bioware said yes. If that doesn't convince everyone then nothing short of playing the game will.

That is what we all have to wait for.  No matter what is said, the proof is in the pudding.

Good lord, how is this still an issue? BioWare has answered this question MONTHS ago.

Yes, you can get all endings without touching the multiplayer. Now, for the love of God Almighty, let this dead horse get buried.

The more I look into it the more I think there's basically 3 parts to all this. Single player characters (individual save folders), the Multiplayer side of things, and the Galaxy at War. I think multiplayer (and maybe even single player) constantly increases the Galaxy at War with assets. You can access these to 'improve' your odds in single player but that parts entirely optional and not requires. Playing the game through in full can ultimately get you whatever ending.

Least that's how its kinda been mentioned or how I've interrupted it last time I read up on it. Galaxy at War is like a middle-ground that builds up that any character can use but is not required to get the best ending. It's a supplement for quick extra play through's of people who don't want to do a completionist run.

So...I know that you CAN get the perfect ending in ME3 with just SP, but this article just came out form PC Gamer:

http://www.pcgamer.c...ts-your-ending/

I mean, I'm all for bending over backwards for a perfect ending, but it sounds like if you screw up just one mission/choice, you're completely locked out of it if you're only doing SP.

Oh. I'm sorry. Are you all talking about this good ending like it's actually good?

I'd like to start off by saying that ME and ME2 were beautiful. I loved and still play them. I played through this game, did every quest, made a choice of some sort, and got the third option or this "good ending" and I don't even understand (or care) why. I started spacebarring through the dialogue about halfway through the game because the NPC development so was so diluted and boring I didn't even care what they had to say, and went full paragon at every player choice for no particular reason. If I can do it, so can you. Easily.

The 50% reduction in my war assets from multiplayer is an unforgivable intrusion of an unwelcome addition to the game, from my perspective.

I don't want to play Multiplayer games. If you want to make an MP game in the Mass Effect universe, make it a standalone game! Why is that so hard? You can use the same assets from ME, and then turn around and sell it for full price to those people who *want* to play that. You can even have the games compliment each other as an option. But don't hold my singleplayer game hostage to your multiplayer money-milking machine, please.

the answer is no because there are 3600 worth of ems points available in SP (7200 tms) and you need over 4000 to get shep lives aka the "good" ending...NOT ONE human being has been able to prove (screenshot) that they have 4000 plus ems while at 50% galactic readiness - why? becasue it is not possible

You can't have a good ending period. You can just die, or die with a lightshow.

This

I have yet to see a SS of someone with enough EMS for the Easter Egg ending

I'm with VigilancePress. They ought to patch this to reduce the good ending requirement to 3500 EMS or something obtainable by people who found the multiplayer as boring as most of my friends did, and have no interest at all in doing anything besides the campaign.

Nothing to worry about.

Wrong, it is actually impossible to get the best ending without playing MP. A datamine on the spoiler thread revealed every possible war asset which adds up to 3800 without MP. Another thing Bioware lied about

I used gibbed save editor to give the alliance 5th fleet like 2k points of war assets. I had almost 7000 MS but because i didnt play the MP i only had like 3500 EMS which is 500 points short for the "best" ending.

Short answer: no you cant. You need to have 4000 ems which isnt possible with 50% readiness.

You can get all three endings without playing MP. However, you cannot get “Deep Breath”, which happens when you choose “Destroy” without playing MP. It is impossible to get enough EMS from Single player alone. So, if you don't consider “Destroy” the best ending, then yes. If you consider Shepard being alive the best ending, then no.

No but you can get the best of three differently colored crappy endings without MP.
