If people complain of planet scanning's absense, I will jump out my window.

Actually I quite liked to scan each and every planet just once, and plant my flag on them all.

We may as well have just wrote "Shepard was here"  with  the Normandy lasers on every non gas planet  that was probed. xD

My OCD made me click each planet once just so it was explored on the map, Gibbed took care of the rest of my needs.

are you close to a window...maybe on one of the higher floors...? here goes....

THEY TOOK IT OUT?! WHY! GOD WHY! PRESTON....HOW DARE YOU!?:(
how dare you replace that mechanic that was okay and replace it with a system that is completely awesome sounding!?  Survivors and resources?! that sounds so awesome it sucks!  planet scanning for life!
:bandit:

on a serious note, i didn't mind planet scanning once it reached it final stage after some upgrade action and a patch.  but with that said, seeing it evolve into something that sounds more cohesive to the story, environment, and makes the acquisition of resources more engaging, i'm all for it. not going to be something i miss, but more that i'm glad see evolve in a different direction.:wizard:

What if I said I liked planet scanning? Because I'm upset that it's gone because I did like it... Ever since I bought the game :crying:.

Planet Scanning wasn't fun (In rides Gibbed to save the day!), and this search and rescue system sounds a whole lot better, given the situation that the galaxy is in during ME3.

Honestly I don't. I don't think "doing sidequest to get a decent amount of materials" will get more annoying then "Searching planets for them". Since I liked searching planets for such, I will be mad having missing a certain material and having to do possibly sidequests left and right just to get it.

So this doesn't help balance out the Origin news, but at least it's a bit of salve on the wound for those of us who are here for the duration. I mean, #1 most requested changed feature (in my mind, at least), and now it's changed to something that almost everyone thinks is a better solution. So, at least minor win there?

Breaths a sigh of relief, I'm glad the scanner is gone, I'd reached the point where I was collecting all the minerals needed at the beginning of the game just to get it out of the way, and what was more irritating is I could not assign the job to the ships very sophisticated AI.
