I would definitely do Zaeed and Garrus's missions before Reaper IFF.  Probably what you were planning, but I'd just re-iterate that.

The only caveat is that Zaeed's mission can have a slightly different ending if you do it after the SM.

For teh Shadow Broker delivery terminal, any mission that gives you a mission complete screen will advance the "clock."  On PC there is an exploit where you can land on the Normandy Crash Site and replace the monument... it will then give the complete screen.  You can do this as much as you want.

You can also "pass time" by going to Alchera repeatedly. Doing that counts for time with regards to unlocking upgrades and missions without actually progressing the plot... This def. works before the IFF, but idk if you want to do this after. I suppose it should still work.

Haha, I never knew that.  I had just been going back to the base after every mission, but that's a really easy (and cheesy) way to power up fast.

or, if you run out of N7 missions or just do not want to bother going back and forth to the base, you can save the game, alt+tab outta the game, change system date (or wait 24 real hours lol), re-load the game until you get an upgrade, save and repeat until you have them all. Saves a lot of time.

The Normandy crash site also helped out triggering the Abduction for me. I had Zaeed's loyalty left and wanted to do it post SM so I could leave him to die, but the Abduction wouldn't trigger even after doing Legion's mission. So I went to the crash site, and on the next landing at a base it triggered, and was able to fry him. Of course I also had Arrival I think, but also wanted it post so I guess having 2 missions not done caused issue.

That's strange.  I haven't had either Zaeed's mission or Arrival hold up the abduction.  And Legion's always seems to autotrigger it.
