Nah this'll probably be locked by tomorrow and reopened five minutes later by someone else.

BSN loves to complain this thread is the equivalent of BSN's Eden. Why would the mods miss a chance to wrap it all up into one thread?

It's easy for them to contain all the ranting in one place to be honest.

They should implement a chat room/column on the site. People would rant there, and nothing gets permanently recorded on the forums.

It may be too old.  I'm also downloading ME2 from Steam to see the same thing, but that also may be too old.  I guess we'll wait and see.

There was a deal for 1 & 2, figured I'd try the newer one first; if it's inconclusive no harm, no foul. ;)

Edit: removed extra no

I'm sure most of the mods don't want to have to install this crap on their computer either. They just cant be as vocal about it.

I guess I can see how you'd assume that, though in my case, it is not true.  I have both ME2 nd DA:O UE through Origin.  I ran Origin exactly *once* each time to activate the game, and it has not been loaded into memory since.  In fact, I just recently put ME2 back on my machine-- I own the retail disc, but I got tired of having to take the disc in and out of the drive, so I d/led it from Origin using my key.  Works great.  No more disc check.

So does that mean I am in love with Origin?  Meh.  It's buggy but getting better-- for that matter, that's why I don't pre-order games anymore, anyway.  I like them to breath in release for a few months, preferably after a patch or two.

At least we get to end both franchises on the number two. Guess third time really wasn't the charm for BioWare.

Hmmm I guess Valve isn't the only company that doesn't believe in 3s.
Its a shame Bioware never made a Mass Effect 3.

I guess that game I'll be picking up on March 6th is a figment of my imagination.

td;dr: I've had a lot of experiences with CD checks causing problems

I'd like to thank you on my behalf for taking all of my problems for me. I played every one of those games, and saw not a single one of those issues. Thank you for karmically balancing out the universe for me.

You're welcome.  :)

I will say that I didn't definitely experience the cd check crashing with NWN1 (though I did experience stuttering that others reported preceding a crash) but mentioed it because it was quite infamous at the time; I did not experience the Ruins of Myth Dranor deleting C:\\; I did have the Myth Dranor randomly fail its CD check, but that game was DoA for many reasons.

I do try.

@RI: Lucky. I have no patience so I end up with bugged out release date games. (I refuse to patch Skyrim though. REFUSE! I know what patching Bethesda games do so if I can beat the game I'm leaving it alone.

They can take down this thread....but they wil NEVER TAKE OUR FREEDOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!

Ekhm.....yeah, seriously though, I hope they realize the potential loss of sales for the PC, and probably expect a crap load of bad reviews via sites like amazon, and finally give up this travesty of a software called Origin.

Nahh... I've enjoyed the discussion.  People have, actually, been behaving well.... for the most part.

For the record, I did not re-sticky this post today once it was unpinned.  Someone else may have... frankly I did not notice.

EDIT for splelling...

Things actually HAVE been fairly well. No gratuitous cursing or wild finger-pointing, no capsfilled RAEG posts that I've seen...it's surprising.

Some mods are indoctrinated obviously. EA actually created the Reapers to force DRM on the species of the Milky Way. It makes sense for their interest in Shepard. S/he has an illegal VI that likley has no DRM.

I agree. Either BioWare employees have unstickied it without notifying the mods or they have notified them but the mods sticky it anyway. The former is true most likely.

But...if EA are the Reaper creators...where's Shep?

We need Shepard to stop this! :crying:

EA locked him in new copies of ME3, you have to buy it to unlock him and then he can come out and fight.

I am pretty sure Chris is the one unstickying this. On like page 20 he said that he didnt think this should be sticked, and if we wanted it at the top we should just keep posting in it. Then the thread got stickied. Lol.

Doubtful. To get a quick reaction out of a corporation EA's size, it'd take a much, much bigger hit to revenue than what'll happen with ME3 on PC.

Though we may all feel differently about Chris’ update, we do have one thing in common...we're all here because of how we feel about the game.

Either that or we’re all here for the drama and free cake.
