1. I'm not opposed to Ea having a DD client but they have already proven they can not be trusted Data-mining ppls info is not on and before ppl defend it this has been proven and while origin may not do this now they did it.
2. personally i find it clunky and horrible to uses this is why i no longer play BF3 or have it on my system
3. Bioware is Ea regardless of what name they trade under and Ea track record with company's its acquired speaks for itself i just hope the staff from the Bioware i love find a better company to move onto when the inevitable happens

Just take the code and activate it on Origin (you will have to install Origin anyway) and download it through that. No d2d client required (I think)
*eyebrow furrows* So I take the code from D2D and download it off Origin? That sounds odd.
See this is why I stick with brick and mortar.
I bought ME2 DDE from GamersGate and just entered the code in Origin and it works. When you buy ME3 from online retailers or even in store, all you are doing is buying a code you will activate in Origin. So when you buy from D2D they will most likely email you or show you the code in your account on their website, just enter the activation code in Origin and it should work, and allow you to dl it through Origin instead of having to dl from whatever online retailers app

Thanks to users like you the next big step will be cloud gaming. And then I have to look for a new hobby since I find that unacceptable.thisrhythm wrote...
Orly? Well you won't be seeing my 80 USD. Piratebay. AH! - HA!
I always hear fabricated statistics being thrown around for piracy sales lost. You guys should make up some for origin sales lost now. <3
If you do not want to buy the game, don´t play it either.
And if you are worried by Origin use a sandbox (since that does not change the code of Origin at all there should not be any legal problems).

Ah I see.
Seriously I have slow as hell internet. I'm not willing to wait god only knows how many hours for a game to finish downloading. It's why a DD service is worthless to me. I'm better off getting on the bus and heading to gamestop.

You know, someone should have kept a running count of how many canceled pre-orders there are in this thread.
And this hurts because there are a lot of folks who already own a lot of Bioware games (just look under everyone's avatar).

I edited to make my point clearer.
But it really feels like I'm asking for permission to play the game after I've purchased it. Finicky but meh. Plus I'm one of those that prefer to have a physical object in hand if I'm paying a decent amount of money for something.

I feel like we're becoming more like a broken tape recorder. Nothing changes at the end of the day.

No, that's not quite what's up. If you buy from a DD site, you can download directly through them. The thing is, EA allows you to get a digital copy of any game of theirs you've bought, regardless of where you bought it. So you can put the code into Origin if you want, and it'll let you download it.
Now, ME3 might be different, and you'll have to use Origin to download it, but that's not how most digital editions of EA games work as far as I know.

Okay that's clearer but not much better for me. Guess I'm just one of those that needs a box.

I highly doubt anything will change. I'm just here to get the complaining off my chest.

Hey, using a sandbox is not a bad idea. Still... don't want to give them money if they force me to use Origin. I had to use it for BF3 and had TONS of problems. Finally just gave up and uninstalled it. Not getting it again. I will try not to pirate it. If they promise me steam or at least box with no origin sometime in the future, I'll wait it out for a year or more. But never finishing a trillogy ever? Not sure I can do that.

I know you can download through them, I was replying to his comment about having to download another DD client. I was just letting him know you don't have to use D2D or whatever stupid clients they have. You can just take the code and download it through Origin, instead of installing another app since it sounded like he didn't want to use those apps.
In reality all you are doing is buying a key when you buy modern games is another point I was making

I really sound that much like a dude?
Nah my issue is the bloatware I'm not using. Steam was tolerable, GFWL was damned annoying, Origin will be the straw that breaks the camel's back.
Of course chances are I'll cave and download it anyway but honestly I'm getting frustrated.

Should I assume you're a geth?
Plus said dude has part of his chest exposed in a teasing manner. Surely that hints more in the eye candy vicinity.

Oooh! And to make this ontopic!
If EA sold geth desklamps with the retail copy of the game since it required origin that'd be awesome. Little Legion lamps. <3

There WERE plans to make an uber collectors edition, but EA scrapped that. The lamp could have been part of the box, what a shame.

With BF3 my desire to play it outweighed my preference for Steam, and my Origin account has all my Steam EA keys registered with it, but I have no desire to use that as my primary means of purchase or download. It is too limiting in features, speed and product availability, and the prices are far too expensive compared to the competitors, but primarily I use Steam by choice, and do not like to be strong-armed into using an inferior service due to EA's own issue with Valve.
So this time around, I will be skipping this title and future titles from EA, which I have already started doing with the latest in the NFS series.
