Yes, hence the choice. You can either play the game and accept the terms of the EULA or not. I still don't think it's rude though. They require this information for statistical purposes to better tailor their product to you. I want them to have this information. You evidently don't. That's fine, but I don't understand why it is so important, what is so private that you don't want them to know? Perhaps there isn't anything and it is a matter of principle for you, that's fine but I don't understand it.

I ques this explains why EA doesn't understand, why they have bad reputation. Some people just don't understand when they do something rude (wrong way). Some could call it collision of USA and European culture. In EU we ask permissions before we go inside of someones privacy. Like when entering someones home we ask "can I come in", or wait for invitation. We just don't walk in others owned private property like we own the place.

Perhaps. Where I come from, the purchase is a contract of sale. It means that they give me something and I give them something in return (usually money!). The 'permission' you seek is the EULA itself. It is literally saying that it is a condition of sale that you cannot play the game unless you agree to these terms. That is asking persmission. By purchasing, you accept.

People should get a life. Go rant about other more important stuff.

Origin works quite good with BF3. It had its problems, but its working fine now and it gets lots of updates. And the case about spyware, it was only in Germany. There were no mentions of spyware in other countries. There was nothing suspicious about it. Go read this stuff and get informed well.

http://www.cinemable...e-PC-36690.html

And if you think pirating the game is justified because of this you are just looking for an excuse and you were gonna pirate anyway. If you really dont want Origin, dont buy the game and go play something else. Most people are gonna enjoy the game and you can just go cry in a corner about how bad Origin is while most people dont give a ****. This nerds need to get a life, its pathetic. Especially the ones who mention Notch's statement. Those are the most pathetic people.

Btw, the pc version doesnt get buyed a lot so it wont affect EA if you think not buying it will help change their mind.

Yes, that being selling it to ad companies to generate more revenue from each consumer.

I believe they have confirmed that they never do that, it is collected for internal use only according to all the evidence.

They do not NOW, after everyone raged at them for the EULA clause that let them share it with other companies.

Yes, this gets back to the issue of how much you will allow them to improve though. You can object to something, it is your absolute right. But if they take steps to improve based on that feedback and then you continue to punish them, who is being more unreasonable?

Something to think about I suppose. You have to decide whether making steps to improve is enough or not. That is also your right. For me, it's plenty. There are lots of things I see companies do every day that drives me crazy. Very often I complain, sometimes they listen and change things. If I was to then say 'well no way I am ever going to give you another chance just in case you do it wrong again' then what was the purpose of the complaint in the first place? I wasted my time.

So? EA won't care. At least we'll have felt as though we'd done something... Plus, not giving cash to a greedy monopolistic company trying to force a stupid download manager on us ftw.

Yes but the interesting thing is that if you are not a gamer and you are for example the parent of a child and you buy a game, you do not know anything about the EULA before you open the box. Not to mention teenagers that buy the game but the do not really have the ability to understand the legal talk of the EULA so they just go through with the instalation not knowing what exactly they are agreeing on.

I am given every opportunity to be. If I choose to ignore it or not read it, then I only have myself to blame.

Ah you have did something wonderful. You have not played Mass Effect 3 with Origin. This must be celebrated.

Do you see how retarded you sound?

Check out Steam's, and other digital distributors, before saying that PC games aren't buyed (sic) a lot.

That is absolutely not true. If enough people react there may be results.Through such a reaction the EULA changed after all!

Okay, just wow. After the history of Origin discussion on this board, after all the "we tell you when we know", just wow. Posted Image

Chris Priestly/Other Mods:

Please re-Sticky this thread as it contains important information about the "features" of ME3; that is, what is required to install and run it. If you don't, I will follow through with my comment of coming here and *bumping* it every couple of days.

Origin is just as important as importing of saves and pre-order bonuses.

Thank you.

I am not sure I understand. Why are there 120 pages? There is normally nothing to discuss.

Now, Mass effect will require Origins. It's not anymore speculation, but a fact. Either you decide to buy the game or you do not buy It.

Yes, that is a much wider issue though. It is always a problem not just with video games but with any purchase that has licensing attached to it. Valid point.

Oh cool, so we got the EA Origin: Kraut edition here? I feel so speshul!

And to repeat this for the bazillionth time, the huge scandal over here was the EULA. That Origin is really spyware was never proven 100%, and in it's current state it's probably not. The EULA grants EA the right to change that anytime though, tomorrow's update could upload your whole pr0n collection to their servers if they decided it was a cool feature for them.

There was no mention or media coverage in other countries because of people apparently not caring enough. I'm pretty sure the EULA violates laws at least in all EU countries if it violates German laws in almost every line, we're not that different to our neighbors. Just needs someone to do something about it instead of sitting it out and not caring.

Oh, no... I'm going to buy it when it eventually comes to Steam (which it will do... As I said about 60 pages back, Fable: the Lost Chapers is on Steam, so I can see ME3 being released there eventually too). I'm not going to pirate it. :D

They will probably lock it at 200-300 pages though, maybe make a locked sticky thread about it.
