If that's true, it's yet another reason not to buy. English isn't my first language, but I always play games in English because that's the development language. Same goes for books.

So, yes. This is just as big an issue as the data mining.

Back when I used the EA downloader to get my games over to the laptop, I was able to install everything in English after setting my prefered language to English-UK on my account. I don't believe it's an issue.

Edit: Oh, and Emoking, this is ridiculously off-topic, but the more I read of your posts the more I want to vote for you as the one having the prettiest DA avatar pic.

I agree. This is not thing, but I will aks a buddy of my to put it on my pc with have to use any platform if i am not mistaken. I really want to play this game, but i refuse to do this the way ea wants us to do.

I'm laughing here. My sides are splitting. What's funny is how everyone in this thread who thinks this isn't a terrible thing believes that EA feels anything for the consumer than contempt. That their target audience is anything but a resource to be mined and exploited, a profit margin to be maximised. That Mass Effect 3 is anything but a bargaining tool to be held hostage. That this is anything but a ridiculous negotiation at gun-point, to force people to use Origin, a shadow of a *real* digital distribution service, like Steam.

Well it's not going to work for me, sonny. Pull that trigger. You'll only be shooting yourselves in the foot.

All I can say to those punished by Origin and resorting to other means of obtaining the game is please don't screw BioWare for EA's mistakes: buy a console version at full price so BioWare can get their money and so EA will get the clear as day message that Origin will NOT be tolerated and then play the game as you will but do NOT leave BioWare without their well earned money for making this amazing game.

I really hope that against the odds BioWare finds a way to free themselves from EA's clutches much like Bungie escaped Microsot's grip.....granted that Bungie was never a great studio as all they produced were petty shooters barely worth mentioning but still....

Think of this thread as the "people who want to debate the merits of a program EA is forcing people to use, and the alternative steps that can/will be taken" thread. If you don't care, then okay. But we are voicing our dissatisfaction.

For example, I live in Quebec, where the local language is french, but I *HATE* playing in french, and refuse to pay for french titles. Its a language I both despise and where translations are almost universally horrible.

An other example, a friend of mine currently lives in the Netherlands where the local language is dutch. She, however, doesn't speak or read a single word of dutch. Yet this terrible "feature" forces her to play her origin-based games in dutch.

I think it very well may be. In one day the thread has currently grown to 125 pages, 3113 replies, and 18355 views. I do believe that should send a message to EA&Bioware about the controversy and how many people actually cares about this topic.

But seriously, that whole post was stupid and pointless. BW cares, and so does EA to an extent. This whole thread is about voicing opinions, one of which is not buying ME3.

Yup. If you do buy a console copy, buy second-hand. Granted BioWare won't get anything for it, but neither will EA, and it won't appear on the sales-charts.
