I was just saying that EA is the only one who sells the DLC.
I know... People don't seem to believe me when I say it.

It's their property, they can do with it what they want.Emoking wrote...
There's nowhere else to buy it. This means, financially, EA have a monopoly on selling it. This is anti-consumer, since they can charge whatever they like, and you're forced to either buy it, or go without.
It's true, though. Not all games, but you can in fact run Origin games without running the application.Emoking wrote...

Yeah, I didn't want to say anything.

It's like comparing Steam with GFWL. I don't like either of them, but GFWL is way worse.

People, I propose something, simple, crazy maybe... Why not simply enjoy this wonderful universe and create a saga capable of travel trough generations like Star Trek o Star Wars?

Origin isn't even a DRM solution, unline Steam. You can play a game without the service running at all. It's just a digital distribution, communication and multiplayer platform.
With that said, I can't fathom how people can talk so much **** about Origin, yet give Steam a complete pass.....unless they enjoy swinging from Gabe Newell's ******.
Yeah, Steam is great no doubt, but I don't love it so much that I would never use anything else. I'm all for competition, and EA is perhaps the only company with enough clout to challenge Steam's domination of the digital distribution service

Who the hell buys BF3 for the single player campaign?
BF3 from day one was geared, and marketed towards multiplayer. Only a fool would say otherwise..

But what if you buy a game through the service? If you buy a game through Steam, is it possible to run the game without launching Steam? Origin let's you do that. Haven't tried it for Steam.Dragoonlordz wrote...
It is semi-right in that I can play ME2 without loading Origin as one example. Only new games I think will require it. Just like how my copy of Skyrim requires Steam even though Morrowind might not.

There is a screenshot of both steam and origin, running for the same amount of time, and the amount of information sent by both programs. The poster had opted out of data collection for steam. Quite a bit of difference between them.

BF3 requires Origin to run, but I thought so far we've only heard confirmation that ME3 requires authentication. I assumed we'll never have to launch Origin after that unless we want to play co-op.Unbannable wrote...

Yep, and both of those games offer multiplayer. Origin is an online communication service as well, so there's nothing wrong there..

I don't want any clients on my PC. At all.

Good luck w/ that one.
Many games theses days have some sort of client attached to it - G4WL, Steam, or Origin.

1) Will Origin be a requirement to play all versions of Mass Effect 3? (Digital and/or from a retail brick and mortar store)
Yes, Origin is required for all PC editions of Mass Effect 3, physical or digital.
