4) Will ME3 be available on Steam?
During initial release Mass Effect 3 will be available on Origin and a number of other 3rd party digital retailers, but not on Steam at this time. Steam has adopted a set of restrictive terms of service which limit how developers interact with customers to deliver patches and other downloadable content. We are intent on providing Mass Effect to players with the best possible experience no matter where they purchase or play their game, and are happy to partner with any download service that does not restrict our ability to connect directly with our consumers.

Thank you for finally giving us the yes/no on whether ME3 is coming to Steam, now I can make other plans. I do have a question though, why is it that getting DLC for ME2 worked perfectly fine on PC (from what my perspective anyway), regardless of whether you had it on Steam, and yet it seems to not be possible for ME3?

Origin sucks.
Steam sucks.
Give back regular cd checks and be done with it.

Change in Steam policy. EA doesn't want their DLC on Steam so they don't have to pay Steam a percentage of profits.

Firefox doubles the memory of Origin? You should use another browser.strive wrote...
Origin for me usually is between 50k and 75k memory for comparison Steam is around 25-50k usually. When I play BF3 Battlelog is the "meh" part. It requires my Firefox to be open and that usually takes nearly double the memory of Origin.
What the.. Firefox takes up between 7k~35k memory on my PC. Why would yours go so high?
Firefox is using around 270K on mine.

And so the censorship continues. The mods have not only closed, but also deleted the "Who cancelled their preorder" thread.
I think that will be the final straw for me. I cancelled my preorder bcause of Origin. Attempts to censor the community by the Community Liason's have pushed me away from even buying it on release.

I feel sorry for the developers but I cannot in good faith support EA's attempt to undermine Steam. I will be boycotting Mass Effect 3, just as I did with Battlefield 3. I like to keep all my games in one place and I already have over 500 games on Steam - I already have Dragon Age, Dragon Age II, Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 on Steam, so this will be one of the few Bioware games I won't be buying.
My opposition is not Origin itself, even though it is inferior to Steam; my opposition relates to EA's decision not to release the game on Steam. Please Bioware, if you have any influence whatsoever then please convey to EA the disappointment from users over this decision.

This has nothing to do with Steam. I'm sick of the Steamatics muddying the waters.
Why on earth does anyone give a rat's arse if the game is on Steam?

Yeah, some people are completely missing the reason why most people hate Origin.
