I have Kaspersky. I'm pretty sure it's not malware.

FixNCR, RKill and Malware-Bytes will find and nuke just about anything and it is all free.

4) Will ME3 be available on Steam?
During initial release Mass Effect 3 will be available on Origin and a number of other 3rd party digital retailers, but not on Steam at this time. Steam has adopted a set of restrictive terms of service which limit how developers interact with customers to deliver patches and other downloadable content.  We are intent on providing Mass Effect to players with the best possible experience no matter where they purchase or play their game, and are happy to partner with any download service that does not restrict our ability to connect directly with our consumers.

Thank you for finally giving us the yes/no on whether ME3 is coming to Steam (despite it not being the answer I wanted), now I can at least make other plans. I do have a question though, why is it that getting DLC for ME2 worked perfectly fine on PC (from what my perspective anyway), regardless of whether you had it on Steam, and yet it seems to not be possible for ME3?

Before trying all those which are good enough suggestions.

Maybe give the advice on here a shot.

Change in Steam policy. EA doesn't want their DLC on Steam so they don't have to pay Steam a percentage of profits.

To add to this, I use Spybot S&D. Has the immunity feature I like, along with SpywareBlaster, also another immunity thing. From the 3 listed above, I only have MalwareBytes.

Edit: Add NoScript and Adblock Plus to your Firefox. Add ons.

I sometimes get over 300K with Firefox, but I usually have anywhere from 20-60 tabs in one window, and at least half open.

Origin sucks.
Steam sucks.

Give back regular cd checks and be done with it.

Heres somethin Gabe Newell said (Guy who owns Steam)

http://www.gamefront...rate-your-game/

Obviously he's right, look at how Steam is held so highly in PC players eyes, and they make a killing. EA just wants to make as much money as possible, anywhere, anytime.

I tend to have about 10 - 15 tabs. Can't help it. Plus I tend to leave firefox on for days and just hibernate my comp.

I don't think your wrong in saying that, I also think there is more to it like promoting their own digital distribution service as well as not wanting Steam to increase the gap between themselves and EA version of similar service by Steam increasing profit and customer base from those who want and will go out and buy ME3.

Origin for me usually is between 50k and 75k memory for comparison Steam is around 25-50k usually. When I play BF3 Battlelog is the "meh" part. It requires my Firefox to be open and that usually takes nearly double the memory of Origin.

Firefox doubles the memory of Origin? You should use another browser.

What the.. Firefox takes up between 7k~35k memory on my PC. Why would yours go so high?

Firefox is using around 270K on mine.

I used to have the same problem.  This page helped me out.

http://support.mozil...gh memory usage

I had all kinds of plug ins and add-ons running I had no use for.

And so the censorship continues. The mods have not only closed, but also deleted the "Who cancelled their preorder" thread.

I think that will be the final straw for me. I cancelled my preorder bcause of Origin. Attempts to censor the community by the Community Liason's have pushed me away from even buying it on release.

Yarr, harr, fiddle de dee.

One thread is enough. I do not blame them for keeping it in one single thread.

I feel sorry for the developers but I cannot in good faith support EA's attempt to undermine Steam. I will be boycotting Mass Effect 3, just as I did with Battlefield 3. I like to keep all my games in one place and I already have over 500 games on Steam - I already have Dragon Age, Dragon Age II, Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 on Steam, so this will be one of the few Bioware games I won't be buying.

My opposition is not Origin itself, even though it is inferior to Steam; my opposition relates to EA's decision not to release the game on Steam. Please Bioware, if you have any influence whatsoever then please convey to EA the disappointment from users over this decision.

This has nothing to do with Steam.  I'm sick of the Steamatics muddying the waters.

Why on earth does anyone give a rat's arse if the game is on Steam?

Oh, dear. They deleted a thread that was made by a user spamming the forums with more "butt sex" threads. Alert the media

I know the one he was talking about, it was just people telling each other why they cancelled their orders. Nothing bad was going on there.

Everyone has different issues and they are entitled to have such. You have your issues which maybe be different but equally as valid. This doesn't make his any less valid.

Yeah, some people are completely missing the reason why most people hate Origin.

And if anything they should welcome Origin since it's providing competition to keep the market from stagnating and with all the negative opinions about Origin it will make Steam seem better.

Your reason is not anymore valid than theirs. He didn't come in here criticising your reasons so don't do it to his.

You know who you are. Bioware/EA is laughing at you...

They're laughing at me because "I will mindlessly use Origin" but the jokes on them! I already have Origin, so this is no sweat off my back. Am glad I don't have install anything new, however...

Now go look up...oh....every single other port on that site:

"Port 443 is known to have vulnerabilities caused by trojans and remote code execution."

"Port 80/udp is known to have vulnerabilities caused by trojans and remote code execution"

"Port 8080/tcp is known to have vulnerabilities caused by trojans and remote code execution."

"Port 1709 is known to have vulnerabilities caused by trojans and remote code execution."

"Port 1720 is known to have vulnerabilities caused by trojans and remote code execution."

"Port 591/udp is known to have vulnerabilities caused by trojans and remote code execution."

Conclusion?  That site is basically just using a generic, fill-in-the-blank template and isn't very useful.  That or you should stop using the entire internet.
