the thing really bugs me is, Bioware you (along with DICE) do it because you wanna push EA's own digital platform, you wanna sabotage Steam whenever is possible so Origin can advance, not because some "we wanna bring best experience to you" crap, we BOTH smart enough to know that, WHY the act? Grow a pair and tell us u wanna compete with Steam, its not a shame, hiding it is.

This.  Stop with the PR bull**** of "connecting with fans" because it's a load of crap.  Bioware points aren't fan friendly, they nickle and dime people "oh, you have 80 points left but nothing on the store costs 80 points lulz!," and is a hassle of a process if that process works at all.  EA has NEVER been fan friendly and it's completely disingenious to even suggest that (online passes, shutting down servers to force players into buying next year's iteration, dreadfully overpriced DLC, a severe lack of features and sales on Origin or a substantial library of games, region restrictions, region restricting some consumers to a currency they don't even use or have access to, and on and on and on).
Stop talking to us like we're children because most of us aren't.

They like me^_^

Oh don't mind me just ignore.

A pity but at least Bioware was honest about it.

Thats a pretty expensive bucket by the way. EA invested heavily in it.

I seriously doubt they did.  It's a rebranded EA Download Manager that doesn't even offer a tiny portion of a feature set that other DL clients offer.  If they did invest heavily in it, maybe all those FIFA players wouldn't be getting hacked left and right.

I do not excuse piracy by any means but I have recently read an article, related to an interview of one of the creators of Witcher, that the most pirated games were the ones with the most restrictive DRM and that the paying customers were the ones that were the ones paying the price by trying to figure out how to install the game they had payed for.

That is inexcusable in my opinion.

Of course piracy will continue. But its a matter of economics and pay off for the developer when making things like steam.

Of course it was. They made a big deal out of it. If eveyone disliked origin you think they throw it in the trash by now?

I bet it comes with an online pass.  That's the first step for consoles.

That honestly does not bother me.
Also it will probably only be required for MP. Theres still some xboxes out there without internet connections.

EA has been investing in their Digital Service since 2005.. it hasn't gained any true traction. They've rebranded their downloaders what four times now? EA Downloader -> EA Link -> EA Download Manager -> Origin.

For whatever reason. Knuckleheads see DRM as a challenge so that's why I think they pirate. And other reasons too.

Exactly.  And that's why they're not getting my money, but at least a friend is letting me borrow it so I'll get to experience the game anyway.

Same. Online passes are no big deal. If I really am interested in a game then I'm going to buy it new anyway.

Its still expensive to maintain. No matter even if you give it a make over and a facelift.

EDIT: Check this out no bull. My Brother works for a internet service provider for big businesses known as Rackspace. He told me that EA pays them  at least a billion or somwhere in the millions (can't remember) just to help them maintain internet service and the like.

I'm the same way, but it's too bad the PC version can't have an equivalent of an online pass like they have for the past 15 years.

I'm getting this for Xbox 360. This does not affect me.

I am, too. And it absolutely does.

Um, I did not see anywhere in the FAQ that you need origin to play the xbox version of the game...Unless they're lying?

Not what I meant. I don't take to melodramatic speech and text lightly, I really don't. But I mean it when I say that "doesn't affect me" mentalities are precisely what allow many terrible things to happen in this world. It doesn't directly affect us now, no. But the less we care, the more it will bite us in our asses in the long run.

I will refrain from mentioning historical examples of this statement in action, but for general trivia's sake you could look at issues ranging from Apple to World War II. I mean... This is a pretty well-documentated sort of scenario.

That would be the only step for consoles since it's a dedicate gameing system and doesn't need third party software or things like that to run games.

Not to mention Sony and and MS would pitch a fit if someone tried to force them to use third party software on their systems, at least without paying them first.

Ugh I think I'm more upset over the fact that ME3 will get review-bombed simply because of Origins and nothing else. It's a pity that the Mass Effect team will end this with a massive backlash from gamers.

Uh just screw you EA. The team really deserves better.

Hmm, it's not as if Bioware have had a recent example of ruining an IP with a substandard rushed sequel. Oh, wait...

Yep, this pretty much means ME3's Metacritic score will be completely worthless.

Considering ME2 was pretty mediocre compared to it's predecessor and DAII was an abomination comapred to DAO.. I could careless what happens to it. I'd like to see BioWare bankrupt and EA Games sell them off so they can be free of EA Games and go back to do what they do best. Make awesome RPGs...

Lol, by doing this, EA (I am 100% sure it's EA) forced to pirate the game even more, than without any DRM. And that's sad, 'cause Bioware totally deserves those 60 bucks per copy. And, as Ubi once failed with one particular game, i bet EA will shut it's DRM down if the sales are poor.

MetaCritic and Number based Reviews are pretty poor to say the least. People really shouldn't use it for anything. I'd recommend using reviews that aren't number based.
