If all publisher should make this choise, then we all end up wiht numerous digital platform with some friends on that one, some on the other. Like i said, steam beat them to the punch. Its that simple. And from that fact, I personally made a choise - years and years ago - to use steam as my pc gameing archive. At the moment it full of good stuff. I do NOT intent do also do this with origin.

That's not how it works in the real world.

Valve has shown that this kind of business model works for some reason, and if something is succesful, people will copy it. So really, the millions of people who live and die by the Steam are also to blame for EA copying Steam. You made it work, and therefor other people want a piece of it.

BECAUSE YOU WILL NEED TO USE ORIGIN!!!! I DONT WANT TO USE ORIGIN. Ik keep repeating myself here, god!
No matter which way I buy it I cant install on steam and for that matter I will not buy it. Becasue EA has won if i do. Sorry bioware. If i could pre-order the game right now on steam I would have already done it!

Do I really need to spell it out?

You seem determined to illegally obtain a copy of ME3. I've tried pointing out to you how wrong that is, but you won't seem to listen.

So what I'm suggesting is that you buy a copy of the game AS WELL.

You've paid for, and now own, a legal copy of ME3. You can then keep that on your shelf and play your Origin-free version that you seem to admamant on getting. Bioware gets the money they've earned, you don't have to use Origin.

Or just don't buy or play ME3 at all. That way you don't have to use Origin and you haven't done something illegal.

It's unbelievable how yout hink this entitles you to downloading the game for free. If you simply say you're going to download it period, or that you believe on a freetopia or that copyright laws are too restrictive or things should be free whatever, it would be one thing. You're stating you believe people should pay but the fact the developers and publishers decided to add a software requirement, to THEIR game, which you don't like gives you the right to pirate it is beyond me

Is there already a thread where we share Origin usernames so we have a friends list for online multiplayer?

OMFG. I have no problem with that. Let them all make their own platform. BUT, give us the gamers a choise on WHICH PLATFORM we wish to use the game we bought. Dont start a goddamn monopoly where we the consumer are always the onces that get the bucket of **** poured over our heads.

Yet you have to install the client and agree to its EULA. And that's all that matters.

Read again. You need Origin installed be it a physical copy or digital. His post did not specifically mention that we can remove Origin for SP after the initial authorization. People have asked this, but it has gone unanswered. From how BF3 is, you might need Origin to even boot the game.

Incognito - Yeah I know. I have BF3 so I know how it works with origin and that Internet Browser instead of actual game menu.

And once again I ask you: aren't you seeing that Valve is doing the same?

To give an example: where in the world would I be able to get Half-life 2 or any recent Valve game on PC without installing Steam?

I've never said that this entitles me to do so. Because I have no alternative I choose to download it. That is the only way not to get in contact with Origin. The other choose is to not play the game at all. HAHAHA, I need to see the day that will happen. And yes, from now on i will do this with all origin exclusive titels. And it is beyond me how foolish and ignorant EA is acting about this.

I can see both sides, It seems to me the you expect the individual to act in a moral fashion but large companies in my experience do not adhere to the same rules they expect us to follow.

I couldn't see a difference either.

I've yet to see real proof that Origin not only collects private data, but does so more than things like Steam.

It will probably be like on Steam. If you want to play Half-Life 2, Team fortress 2 or Left for Dead, you need to start up Steam.

EA has won even if you pirate the game.  Look it is very simple if you are against Origin then you should be against buying or playing any EA product until they get rid of the festering mess they call Origin.  If you buy Mass Effect 3 on the PC and then pirate it you are givng a false message to EA that you support Origin.  If you do not buy it but still pirate it then you are giving EA justification to not only use Origin but make it more tougher and more invasive.

I do not like Origin, I refuse to have it on my PC therefore I will not be buyinig Mass Effect 3 nor will I be playing Mass Effect 3 in any way whatsoever.  If you feel so strongly about Origin that you are complaining about it in this thread then you will do the same.  If you intend to "pirate" the game then guess what YOU are the reason we have to put up with crap like Origin.

I've been reading BSN for two years now. I've learned well that flamers, haters, trolls and self-important people will attack everyone who doesnt agree with their opinions or stands on their path. I know it sounds insane, but that's how it is here.

My Origin username is not the same as my BSN username. I know it's the same account, but you can customize nicknames over EA websites.

Right, I forget. I never go to other EA owned sites.

Here you go. I've been monitoring Origin for couple of days now and I see this all the time I check Origin in that program app. (I've done this pic today)

and onces again i tell you, that steam has always been nr 1 and the only platform out there. I dont like any platform, but I dont want to download everything, because i hate it. But since october 2011, origin is introduced and is indeed doing the exact same thing valve is doint. This is life m8. Valve beat them to punch year ago, and i mean years and years ago. Because of this I will not start all over again with origin. That simple. If EA decided to put origin on the marktet a year after steam, then no biggie. Not now, bad timing!!
