I wish I was very patient but I think on this I'll have no issue waiting.

If some devs/pubs can retain their common sense (CDP (RED) for instance) and stick to their guns, as a PC gamer I doubt I'll be bored that much.

If not, well as I said, I got other things to do as well. ;)

And your point? It may be that that's 35 million people playing free to play Team Fortress 2, and 5 million playing Skyrim. It's still a hefty number of accounts for a market that was supposedly dying a few years back.

My point is there are far more registered accounts compared to Active Accounts. By using a general term like "Accounts" it makes Steam smaller than what it really is.

So if you ask EA a question and EA doesn't answer it means they are up to something bad.

But if you ask Valve a question and Valve doesn't answer they are not responsible for anything.

My logic was based on evidnce provided, if Valve released a statement with evidence showing otherwise I would change to fit accordingly.  You can't fault me for not making something up to fill in missing information that is needed.

No, I meant automatically believing a company when they spout the same thing repeatedly when you're not shown proof otherwise is occasionally a bad thing. Not always, and I see your point. But I'm viewing this all rather critically (believe me, if we got into how Steam's prices are stupid in Europe, I wouldn't be defending them :) )

Also Origin has region locks to.. funny. Your whole argument just blew up in a ball of flames.

Not sure what are you talking about. Origin shop is regionally locked but i can access without any problem my games bought in a different country(since i travel a lot) when i return back home. This is not the case with Steam

Aargh12 wrote...

Region locks have nothing to do with
Steam. It's the retail publisher's decision to make it now available on
Steam in certain regions to maximise the profit from physical copies
(ie. the situation with Skyrim and RAGE in Central/Eastern Europe).
Valve can do nothing about it as they distribute games on terms provided by others.

I don't care i pay them and i want to access my game when and WHERE i want...so no money from me.

True that. But I suck at the Witcher. I keep getting pwned by that damn dragon. :(

LOL true that. It's about time I played the rest of my PS3 games anyway.

So you are saying I shouldn't trust EA cause they are EA....... ya geat logic.

I believe EA's stance since it does make sense, and they have shown proof of it and there intentions that they would like to continue dealing with Valve.

Valve has said.......... nothing, and when you say nothing to defend your stance that normally implies that there is truth is what the other side, in this case EA, has stated.

I'm saying that EA is monopolistic in its attitudes to DLC. And that trusting a monopolistic company when it says "We'd like to sell our products other places" is a bit foolish (not that you are foolish, just it's not a very wise thing to do).

Also, Steam haven't replied because they don't tend to get involved in business arguments. Just like they don't tend to publicize sales figures. Though I do admire your logic that says "just because someone doesn't deny something, doesn't mean that it is right". <_<

So wait, EA shouldn't be allow to do whatever the hell they want with their own DLC's?

While Valve, in other hand, can be monopolistic and do whatever the hell they want with other business's stuff?

I smell Valve/Steam fanboyism here.

lol?

Show me one game from Valve that can't be bought anywhere else, either physically or digitally.

Then show me one other place that sells EA DLC.

EA are allowed to do what they want with their DLC. But

1) equating them with what Valve do isn't quite right

2) they are using monopolistic business practices when it comes to DLC

3) we have a right to complain about said business practices.

Steam just recently broke their concurrent active account record. Other publishers have NO problems throwing blockbusters at steam, like Skyrim, MW3 (it's ****, but it's a blockbuster), GTA etc.

If EA want me to keep a separate library with an inferior program, then I'm saying farewell to ever buying  :bandit: their games again, simple as that.

I own ME1, ME2, Dragon Age, Baldur's Gate 1&2, IWD 1&2, NWN 1&2, most of the expansions for every one of them, but I am NOT going to buy ME3. Not with this pathetic origin and your disgusting accusations on steam. Restrictive rules? I guess that's why EVERYONE but EA just LOOOOVES steam.

No buy for me. It's gonna be AAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHHHHHHHHHH MATEYS!!!!

I just love how people have the EA/Steam things completely wrong in every respect despite all information available stating that EA would like to put games on Steam it is just Valve's stance on DLC preventing it

And you believe EA... Why? What does EA say other than "Heyyyy... we'd like our games on Steam, but they won't let us"? Why won't they let EA? Because EA want to restrict the manner in which their DLC is sold. I am getting tired of asking this, but I'll do so again...

Is there anywhere else that sells Mass Effect/Dragon Age DLC?

No, there isn't. Then ask yourself what the "restrictive" ToS that Steam have that applies to those games, and Crysis 2? Oh, wait, it's about selling related DLC.

Proof from Valve that they want EA games on Steam, but that they cannot change their rules for one company. And those rules are not there for show. Also, why can't EA sell their DLC through steam and through their own services?

- enhancing your user experiences

For these purposes EA wants to collect personally and not-personally data.
