Probably Veteran or Hardcore the first playthrough, and maybe Insanity on the rest depending on how difficult it is.

Gonna start on Insanity, mostly because my canon's been Insanity-only thus far. I don't want to change that.

I'll probably start on Veteran and ramp it up to Hardcore if it is too easy. I want a challenge on my first playthrough haha. I hadn't been challenged in ME2 on Insanity until very recently when I decided to take on Insanity with a Vanguard Shep. Hoo boy, it's a challenge but man does it feel good when you're successful.

I believe the difficulties are:

-Narrative
-Easy
-Normal
-Hardcore
-Insanity

So first playthrough I'll go normal (it is meant to be like veteran from the last two) and then I'll replay with the same character on insanity.

Normal and work my way up. I hate that a bartender has military grade armor and shields and takes more firepower to down than an enraged Krogan. Bad difficulty design, IMO.

Drunken Insanity (thats when you get drunk, then try and play it on insanity. A REAL difficulty mode made for manly men)

Insanity will probably only be unlocked after you've beat it once/once on hardcore, it was like that in ME1 and 2 anyways.

On Topic: Probably normal or veteran, then I'll increase until Insanity.
