Insanity. Should help the story feel more intense, especially with timed objectives. Like the Pod Integrity with the Female Krogan.

Normal on my first playthrough then probably Insanity on my second.
Will be playing both playthroughs in RPG mode though.

Casual of course.
Mass Effect 1 I played Casual then decided to try Insanity and I got stuck at the Eden Prime mission where you disarm the bombs cuz of a frickin bridge. Got stuck for like 2 full days so I gave up.
Mass Effect 2 I played Casual then decided to try Insanity at the mission where you fight off waves of krogans. i moved up but then I got stuck every step so I gave up.
Hopefully Mass Effect 3 wont have anything like ME1 bridge to make a bottleneck or ME2 waves which im sure will be in.

Hardcore. I'll go up to Intensity later for the achievements, I'd like to experience the story without an inordinate amount of controller snapping frustration.

I always do normal but I may give Veteren a try on my first playthrough. After you reach a certain level on normal the enemies offfer little danger against me and my squad of badasses.

Start at hardcore and drop to veteran if it's that much harder then the corresponding setting in the previous games.

Insanity.
So it makes the game longer. Sadface for being Shepard's last game...

eeeeh... Hardcore if the game play stays/looks as fluid as the trailers make it look.

Casual. Just so I can learn all the surprises, increase level, and powers etc. Then go straight to insanity after importing. That's my gameplan.
