Insanity. I hope for a challenge, since ME2 was way too easy.

I always play a game on normal first then crank up the difficulty on my 2nd playthrough. Will be doing the same with ME3.

Why would I start off on a hard difficulty on my first playthrough when I'm not sure what I'll have to face on what mission then get stuck somewhere and become frustrated?

Most likely insanity or whatever equivalent. Definitely rpg mode though. I'm not too sure what appeal the non-'rpg' modes will have for me.

Hardcore RPG for my first playthrough, then Insanity RPG for my second.

Depends on if they fixed the goddamn game breaking Vanguard bugs.  People say the geometry and charge bugs "didn't happen that often", but I've been stuck in a wall or up on a pillar at least twelve times so far in only a four hour playthrough, and the charge "can't get a lock" bug with targets directly in front with zero obstacles in the way happens at least 20% of the time.  This is complete and utter failure on Insanity.

First playthrough will probably be either Veteran or Hardcore.

For a Solider, Infiltrator and Sentinel maybe.  Vanguard could have been added to the list, but it never worked correctly.

Normal to understand the combat and upgrade system, then insanity to get the achievement, then veteran or hardcore for the rest of my playthroughs.

Got 11 shepards total...this may take awhile.

I've been playing the first two on Hardcore for the last few playthroughs so I think I might try Veteran. I'm not sure I could go back to normal now.

I'll start out having someone I know play it while I watch, so I can get the story, then I will work up to playing the game myself.

Normal. Or easy, mainly to get a good story without the game being a **** to beat in certain area's then straight to Insanity if it's it's unlocked immediately like it was in ME2, but if not i'll work my Way up same as ME1. But i'll let you know that my mind might lean towards insanity the day the game comes out to see exactly how hard it actually is on the hardest difficulty since they claim to have up'ed the Difficulties.

My only problem on Insanity was the Human Reaper boss, I could take cover easily, but the collectors would trash me from the side and i'd have to try and move around, but i used my brians. Muahhhahaha...

Veteran most likely, I want abit of challenge and not to finish the game so quick, on the other hand, I don't want to be pissed so I won't play on insanity, at least not on my first playtrough.

Normal for me. Nothing higher, nothing lower. F*** Insanity difficulty. I feel that way about that difficulty in any game. It just juices the enemies to even more ridiculous levels. No thanks.

Probably the highest unless it's too insane.

I want to feel that the unwinnable battle to save the galaxy is actually a battle and seemingly unwinnable so when it is won it'll be all the sweeter =p

Wish the OP had put up a poll - toss up between Insanity and Veteran - can see reasons for both - Insanity="I know you feel this" Veteran="I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favorite galaxy"

Probably on veteran since that is what I play the first two games on.

As I said, ME3 doesn't have veteran.

So it has been renamed.  It is still the same thing though I think ME 3 bumped it up a notch on all difficulty settings.

Casual. It's my preferred difficulty. But as I did with ME1 and 2, I plan to go with Insanity for the achievement on a subsequent playthrough.
