I see a lot of people saying they'll start on veteran. Thing is, there is no veteran.

I believe the difficulties are:
-Narrative
-Easy
-Normal
-Hardcore
-Insanity
So first playthrough I'll go normal (it is meant to be like veteran from the last two) and then I'll replay with the same character on insanity.

Just to everyone who said Insanity:
I don't think that is possible on the FIRST playthrough, like in ME1 and 2. Just so you know

i will play on normal to start with then play again on a harder difficulty and so on.

Drunken Insanity (thats when you get drunk, then try and play it on insanity. A REAL difficulty mode made for manly men)

Insanity because I cannot play anything else. All the sheps I make now are on Insanity mode and that is where I am comfortable. And I will play on hardcore if it is not available. (Insanity that is.) Plus I am insane so it fits!

This. Once you get used to it, it's the only way to play. I almost wish there was a higher difficulty built in.

Yeah, how mean it is to allow casual players to have access to the full content of a game...The_Other_M wrote...
Normal.
If it were like back in the day, when the player was actually awarded something significant for playing on a higher difficulty like unlocking 2 - 4 extra stages/scenarios, extra skills, extra bosses, the True Final Boss or the True Ending, then yes I would definitely play on a higher difficulty level.
BUT, these days it doesn't matter. The game is "basically" the same on any setting. And your ONLY reward for trying harder is a goddamn trophy/achievement. F@#% that!
So nowadays I only play on Normal.
