I prefer the term "cabal" or "Illuminati". "Cult" is maybe a fitting term.

At least, that's how they seem to act.

Broad generalization of an entire fanbase? That's the internet for you.

In regards to Chris' posts about the reasoning for Tali being a suadmate in ME3, those seem to be about the right choices for it.

Considering some of the reasons why Tali is a squadmate cannot be applied to only her I don't see the point here. Are Liara, Garrus, Ashley, Kaidan, and James fans a "cult" too since those characters are now squadmates when originally no one was supposed to be?

I wouldn't know. their respective fanbases aren't as vocal or rabid.

And James was always meant to be a squadmember. So was Ash and Kaidan. And Liara.

Not so sure about Liara. In older ME3 articles Casey Hudson didn't confirm her as a squadmate.

The excited citrus fruit has a point. The cabal is the only reason a certain Quarian will be on the team of ME3. I wouldn't really care anymore if people would stop insisting that they weren't getting preferential treatment in terms of story.

I wish Volition took a character's popularity into account when making game, they killed Johnny Gat. If that is indeed the case with Tali I don't have a problem with it. I would've preferred if BioWare would have stayed with their earlier concept of no one being a squadmember, at least in the usual way.

While I agree about Johnny Gat I really wish BioWare would completely ignore the fans in regards to a characters' popularity. ME3 could have been a very different game on the story front if they followed the tone they set in ME2. I can't judge though, game ain't out yet.

I said it once, I'll say it again. Mirandafans shouldn't have locked themselves up in their support thread. They should have been as loud as the Talibans and ****ed and whine 24/7. Until BW caved.

Only then would they have gotten what they wanted. And they have the largest Fandom.

I tried inciting that about a year ago, but some fan bases are more complacent than others.

We DO have the largest support thread and one of the largest support groups though.

On the BSN maybe. Casual Gamer Land disagrees though.

Considering Miranda only has ME2 and 3 support threads I'm still gonna say not even close. Not yet anyway.

But also more reasons to express concerns

Tali's or Garrus' threads would probably be bigger if their fate wasnt known and their face already seen in the demo (I wouldnt want to see that)

Thread. Not threads. Concerning ME3.

Find a larger one.

What, because of the boost it got from unfavorable reaction to Miranda's coming role in ME3, discerned from the datamined game script? No offense, I've seen constructive and on-topic conversations occur within the thread but it does not compose the sole make-up of all discussion (nor does any thread honestly, but more-so in this particular case.)

In the mean time, the Tali fandom has already had threads so large, far-reaching and all encompassing compared to all of the discussion on Miranda in ME3 or otherwise put together that there remains simply nothing to talk about, except to wait paitently for the next game to come out and give us something new to discuss regarding her character.

Add unto the exhaustion of topics to discuss, the fact that the Tali fandom is by far the most ostracized and publicly hated of the larger Love Interest fanbases due to a unique reverse-cult of personality effect across the BSN forum at large regarding the opinions of those that are fans of her character.

Question this, if a Talimancer is considered creepy or cult-like, then what do you think happens to any new fan that likes Tali when they visit the forum? Some would either leave in disappointment that their opinions are hated or might even change their opinions to fit in with everyone else. In the meantime, Tali for ME3 still builds up enough of a fanbase to rival other threads anyway.

If the Miranda fanbase was treated as awfully as the Tali fanbase from now for the next two years, during which all of the threads were constantly trolled and then locked and banned, her current fanbase was then routed from the website entirely and then new sections and new threads were constructed, with which the void could only by filled by new fans that came far after the game had already been released, can you really say that beyond a shadow of a doubt Miranda would have the largest support thread in a romance section?

The answer to the question is no, unless you're being silly.
