Poor little me, I'm tired of sticking my head in the sand. Why didn't you just go to the Tali thread and write a thesis long sob story there? Maybe your thread can keep up that way lol.Atemeus wrote...
What, because of the boost it got from unfavorable reaction to Miranda's coming role in ME3, discerned from the datamined game script? No offense, I've seen constructive and on-topic conversations occur within the thread but it does not compose the sole make-up of all discussion (nor does any thread honestly, but more-so in this particular case.)
In the mean time, the Tali fandom has already had threads so large, far-reaching and all encompassing compared to all of the discussion on Miranda in ME3 or otherwise put together that there remains simply nothing to talk about, except to wait paitently for the next game to come out and give us something new to discuss regarding her character.
Add unto the exhaustion of topics to discuss, the fact that the Tali fandom is by far the most ostracized and publicly hated of the larger Love Interest fanbases due to a unique reverse-cult of personality effect across the BSN forum at large regarding the opinions of those that are fans of her character.
Question this, if a Talimancer is considered creepy or cult-like, then what do you think happens to any new fan that likes Tali when they visit the forum? Some would either leave in disappointment that their opinions are hated or might even change their opinions to fit in with everyone else. In the meantime, Tali for ME3 still builds up enough of a fanbase to rival other threads anyway.
If the Miranda fanbase was treated as awfully as the Tali fanbase from now for the next two years, during which all of the threads were constantly trolled and then locked and banned, her current fanbase was then routed from the website entirely and then new sections and new threads were constructed, with which the void could only by filled by new fans that came far after the game had already been released, can you really say that beyond a shadow of a doubt Miranda would have the largest support thread in a romance section?
The answer to the question is no, unless you're being silly.

Same with Miranda, and anyone else returning or not returning to the team for ME3.

So stop whining and moaning like SWM.

On the other hand, the community by the time I got here and for the rest of the time after it was basically on a permanent anti-Tali streak, with the Virmire Survivor, Miranda, and Liara fanbases taking turns on who hated Talimancers more and would image bomb the thread with their preferred love-interest instead (if it wasn't images of a fanart with a Vorcha eating Tali's face or Tali getting shot in the head with a missile.)
No one cares about that though, because apparently all fans of Tali deserve it? I should just stop whining because I'm expected to bear the karmic burden of some rude or immature people that came before me?

Anyway, from what I saw of Miranda in ME3's script it really feels like she's one of the areas they could have expanded in the time between the leak and now based on feedback, if there was any place that was actually changed at all.
Don't lose hope on Miranda as a squadmate just yet, OP.

I agree that Miranda's part in the script appears most unfinished. Nonetheless, I'd be very surprised if she was on the team. There are too many references where you can "select X" (X = team member) and Miranda isn't in the list. The most we might get is a Legion-like late game joining after the endgame has been triggered.Atemeus wrote...
True, that's a good point. I shouldn't let myself get caught up in silly ****ing drama about page-counts and trolling. I feel kind of stupid taking it so seriously, now that you say that actually... :/ sorry.

But also, I think her story arc can be better if she's not on the team for most of the game, so I'm not so concerned about team member status as such except for the regrettable absence of banter and mission comments. More about that in the Miranda in ME3 spoiler discussion group. Our main worries are that her story arc does her justice (mainly, that it doesn't reduce her concerns to the personal as it appears right now) and that she has an appropriate endgame impact considering that she has a close connection to one of the main antagonists. If her Cerberus connection doesn't play a bigger part in her story arc than evidenced by the script, then I'll say the writers mistreated her.
As for the question who has the bigger d.....thread, I don't care and it doesn't matter. Most support threads are carried by a handful or a dozen dedicated fans anyway and thread activity is not representative of fanbase size. Just look at Kaidan's thread and compare thread activity with the results of the bigger and more organized polls if you want a prime example. Also, I don't really mind Tali's presence on the team since she's tied closely to the main plot through the quarian/geth connection. I find the preferential treatment of Garrus and Liara (!) more problematic, since Liara's the SB and should have her own base and Garrus hasn't got much plot potential.

I meant the ingame data statistics shows Miranda to be the most romanced NPC.
Even more than Tali. Though Talifans have the higher internet population.

You need to keep in mind the fanbase grew a lot with ME2: ME1 fans + new fans = more fans.
Therefore it does make sense why Miranda got a lot more romances than everyone else. She was designed to be romanced *g*
Me like it ...

When I first bought Me2 I deleated my Me1. So romanced Miri with a default Shep.
Liara and Miri are the only ones I romanced.

I'm indifferent about this posting, Darius. I think it was more difficult to avoid Tali!romance than Miranda!romance for me ... and I definitely won't ever say, Tali was designed to make Shepard to cheat on Liara/VS.Dariustwinblade wrote...

Won't have any non-ME1 playthroughs ... either full or none. Speaking about, I definitely need a female Shepard. Complicated question - go for Kaidan or Liara then? ^^

Go single for the first two games and then romance Samantha Traynor in 3. You know you want to.

I have problems with the fact that all 3 are on the team but that's do with the broader fact that ME3 squad system is a busted flush imo.

I said it once, I'll say it again. Mirandafans shouldn't have locked themselves up in their support thread. They should have been as loud as the Talibans and ****ed and whine 24/7. Until BW caved.
Only then would they have gotten what they wanted. And they have the largest Fandom.
We do?
Not even close.
On the BSN maybe. Casual Gamer Land disagrees though.
I highly doubt that. All people I know who play ME definitely like Miranda.

It's not likely based on the leaked script.
Also, Yvonne Whatever probably costs a fair bit of money for VA. That may be one of the reasons she has less of a role.
