I wish they'd cut this DLC bullsh*t and make a quality expansion.

Great Topic :)

Personally I would like to see a DLC that instead of adding a big dungeon crawl location etc, adds, subtly if necessary, more depth to the world, items encounters new creatures new npc's, quests and takes even more advantage of the game's codex and historical premise, a chance to delve deeper into Ferelden so to speak. Possibly adding more CC choices would be nice too :)

I loved exploring the Deep Roads. If there was a DLC that added to the Deep Roads map, perhaps like an expedition to old Thaigs and stuff. Maybe even fighting Darkspawn through ruins of one of the lost Dwarven cities? It would be amazing to just really see how terrible the Dwarves' lives would have been.

Spoiler Warning
Below

Since Grey Wardens go to the Deep Roads for one final battle before they die, then I'd love to play that as a DLC. A battle that takes us through the older tunnels, and perhaps into the ruins of another Dwarven city.

I want larger DLC, on the order of 10-12 hours, with brand new enemies and a continuation of the main storyline.

Uninspired dungeon crawls for loot are not my thing. Especially since at the end of the game, fights become nothing more than speed bumps to the end of the game.

I would like several Monster packs which add some variety to the existing game.  The current monster selection is kinda dry to me.Image IPB

For a random dungeon crawl, i'd like to see more Fade. A section the length of the one in the mage's tower would be easily worth $10 to me.

And also more Deep Roads, more places to explore there would be welcome.

Personally, I would really want to play a DLC based on Dragon's peak, it is a location only mentioned in the game but never get to visit. I would love to fight a dragon at Dragon's peak or something and get a set of really cool armor or sword.

Also, a DLC focused on a series of quests based on Character class would be nice. Like in Baldur's Gate..

I just hope Bioware will keep on pumping out some awesome Dragon age DLC, not like Batman Arkham Asylum where the DLC for that game is pretty much dead by now.

Endgame content and continuation.

Having new content in the middle of the game is indeed entertaining, but having some DLC that further expanded on what happened after the end would be hella awesome. It's hard to miss the people here saying how much they want to further explore with their character.

What I want for Christmas - oh wait ;) --- I mean what I want in a DLC or don't.

I find it much easier to start with what I don't want in a DLC, then go on to say what I do want:

1) I don't want DLC that's about finding some phat lewt (good loot) like King Cailan's armour or the armour being found in the Warden's Keep DLC. I fail to see the relevance of the player pc or any of the npcs prancing around in this (referring to King Cailan's armour here). Basically, I don't want DLC where I have to go looking for items - unless it is something like the Umbacano quest in Oblivion. (archaeological expedition - maybe tied to the Dalish Elf or something like that?)

I would like to see more story quests, more quests related to the story in the game as DLC.

Bioware has established themselves as the story tellers of the RPG genre; I would like to see you guys live up to that - even in the DLCs.

2) I don't want DLCs that last 30-60 (90)minutes in an average run. Instead I would like to see DLC that's about 3-4 hour in lenght on an average run, maybe 2-3 hours long on average.

3) As for questgivers, I don't want people in camp telling me about a DLC I didn't buy yet, nor would I like to see any such npcs appear elsewhere in the game. I don't know if it is possible to do, but people could maybe see a sign that said, new dlc (buy) available at the launching screen. Maybe this is not possible to do from a pure tech point. Looking at the DLC for both Fallout 3 and Oblivion, they did seem to sell OK (more than OK) when they were announced at the website or through press releases. Rest assured, Bioware and EA, that any (and all) major websites will pick up the news about any new dlc you publish - now and in the future.

4)

I would like to see a DLC about an old tired grey warden goin deep into the Deep Roads as well.

5) Any ideas people have here - could be used for a player made mod to the game.

6) I would also really, really like to see an expansion of maybe 20-30 hours of gameplay. I haven't gotten a clue as of yet what the plot should be about, though. It could take place after the final battle and the epilogue.

7) Please try to add a place like Durlag's Tower or Watcher's Keep to the game - through DLC or in the expansion, if possible.

8) I fully understand and realize that people out there might like cool items and how difficult it is for you guys as developers to satisfy everyone's needs and desires (for DLC I mean ;) ). It would be nice to see a little love for the folks who like stories in their dlc (and rpg) like myself...

Posted to correct thread. (didn't see dev req for all dlc request/feedback to be in this thread)

I fully agree that game companies need to make money and DLC content is a good way of securing additional revenue streams that enables Devs to continue to be employed after release date and provide ongoing patches and support. I have no problem with the DLC's.

This is my wish list on how I would like things improved.

- For those of us who do not have an internet connection on there gaming PC I would like an option to be able to install the dlc content (that came free with the main game) offline. My computer is kept free of the internet because i use if for my work in lighting design/ CAD and I dont want virus or malware wreaking it or a AV slowing it down. For the internet i use my laptop. I found it really frustrating that i paid $120 Austrlaian (110 US dollars) for the regular version of the game and now i cant install the dlcs. (There was no mention on the box that i needed to have an internet connection on my DA installed computer to validate the dlc's). FYI stardock has a system for people like me. They have an offline activation client - http://www.impulsedr...ive_activation/

Please implement a similar system for DA.

- My preference for dlc is large expansion packs that add quest content rather than small extra armor or extra npc etc. To be honest modders can create the extra armour etc content very well. What modders are not so good at is creating involved quests (because a). its very hard to do. B). it takes a long time and c). its hard getting voice actors and they usually dont have access to the middleware that devs have.

- Final request is that some time in the future you release an DLC pack that i can buy from a store (or implement the offline activation method for dlc content as requested in point 1. )

thanks for your time.

I would love to see them open up another realm, such as letting us go to Orlais, Tevinter, our maby the Qunari homeland, i agree with most of you in that we need larger expansions and not small scraps that only make us want more and more, i know the bioware team works very hard on the dlc's even the small ones but.....its kinda a middle finger to the player to develop a great storyline like D:AO and knowing we are all craving to see something that will improve a already great game they make a bunch of little bits and tell us were gona go on a grand adventure and dicover a hidden warden base are something.....only to find out its not a base even when your done with it....its a little camp full of stray dogs and merchants!!!! i was really looking forward to customizing my warden base and getting guards and upgrades.........(sigh)....

Hello,

In one of the DLC bashing posts I saw a response by a Bioware employer suggesting that the discussion at hand should be over what type of DLC players want to see and not on the merits of whether DLC is morally reprehensible or not.  So on that note, I will express what sort of content I may or may not be willing to pay money for.

My gaming interests: I am a RPG fan by nature. I grew up in the late 1980s-90s with tabletop RPG and enjoy PC based RPGs a great deal. I am a fan of a good story and a game's storyline is one of the main selling points for me. If I can't get into or relate to the main struggle I don't usually finish a game, no matter how good its technical merits are. My favorite Bioware game is the Baldur Gate saga followed very closely by Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. I also play MMORPGs and in particular World of Warcraft which I am very involved in.

DLC I'm willing to pay money for: Content that directly continues the main storyline of an RPG that I've enjoyed I am likely to pay money for.  For example, of all the 5 DLC available for Fallout 3 the only one that I bought was Broken Steel because it finishes the main storyline that was started in the game. I am likely to also buy content that fleshes out the main storyline of the game and is directly related to it depending on its price.  The Stone Prisoner is an example since it adds an entire new party member that interacts and gives opinion on all the main events of the main quest. I would be willing to pay, for example, for a piece of DLC that deals with tracking down a particular companion after the conclusion of the main Dragon Age campaign.

DLC I may or may not pay money for: Content that is tangent to the storyline of a game. This is content that is not directly related to the storyline of a game or that only adds background information to the main storyline.  Examples include the rest of the Fallout 3 DLCs that I didn't buy and Warden's Keep for Dragon Age. Return to Ostagar falls into this category as well. I may buy it down the line when it is part of a bundle or as a reduced offer but in its current state I am unlikely to pick it up since it adds nothing to the main storyline.

DLC I'm very unlikely to pay monety for: Vanity content.  It's highly unlikely that I would ever pay for any sort of vanity content in any game.  It hasn't worked on me in Warcraft with the new pets nor did it work on me in Everquest 2 with their Live Marketplace.  An example directly related to Dragon Age would be the Blood Dragon armor.  I am also unlikely to pay for buffed up items.

All this being said I'll conclude by stating that I am still a fan of the traditional expansion pack or sequel.  I don't know how DLC affects or does not the traditional model of the past but I am still more interested in paying $30-40 for a full expansion rather than paying smaller amounts for only chunks.

What are the rest of you willing to pay for?

Respectfully,

J
