 Okay so I have a glitch that's really messing me up. I play on the PC, just so you all know.

While in combat, all of the stats and info (Meaning shields, health, hotbar, squad info, enemy health and armor/shields, enemy selection (for activating powers) and even the crosshair thing) start flickering on and off. It flickers about once per second, which is very distracting to me, makes the game lag, and I can't use any powers on enemies while the flicker has turned it off. Also this isn't confirmed, but I don't think I can shoot while it's flickered off, either.

Does anybody know how to fix this? Please help me! D:

You have chosen to offer maybe a one-tenth part of what is needed to make an answer. Look to the sticky message that starts with "Read First", and follow through with what that guide suggests. Thank you.

PC MINIMUM System Requirements
OS = Windows XP SP3 / Windows Vista SP1 / Windows 7
Processor = 1.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or equivalent AMD CPU
Memory = 1 GB RAM for Windows XP / 2 GB RAM for Windows Vista and Windows 7
Hard Drive = 15 GB
DVD ROM = 1x Speed
Sound Card = DirectX 9.0c compatible
Direct X = DirectX 9.0c August 2008 (included)
Input = Keyboard / Mouse
Video Card = 256 MB (with Pixel Shader 3.0 support). Supported GPU Chips: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 or greater(**); ATI Radeon X1600 Pro or greater. Please note that NVIDIA GeForce G.205, G.210, 310, 7100, 7200, 7300, 7400, 7500, 8100, 8200, 8300, 8400, 9100, 9200, and 9300, also (probably) GT 520/610; ATI Radeon X1300, X1550, HD 2400, 3100, 3200, HD 3450, HD 3470, HD 4200, HD 4250, HD 4350, 4550, and (probably) HD 5450/6370 are below minimum system requirements. Updates to your video and sound card drivers may be required. Intel  and S3 video devices are not officially supported in Mass Effect 2.

(**)Two of the Geforce 6800s are worse than the next-lower Geforce game card, the 6600 GT, and should be avoided (6800 SE, 6800 XT).

I have Windows 7
my processor is a Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz
I have 4.00 GB RAM

The rest of the stuff I have no idea how to find (it's like a different language to me) but my brother does, I'll have to wait until he can help me. So I'll post that within the next few days.

also I would like to add, I've had mass effect 2 for over a year and never had a problem with this until about two weeks ago.

There are step by step instructions, as well as helpful pictures, in the "Read First" thread.

OS = Windows 7
Processor = Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00 GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.0GHz
Memory = 4096MB RAM
Hard Drive = 24.2 GB
DVD ROM = (Sufficient)
Sound Card = RTKVHD64.sys (that's what you want, right? or just to know it's sufficient?)
Direct X = DirectX 11
Input = Mouse, Keyboard, Generic Virtual HID Driver (x3), USB Receiver (x3) Cordless Receiver (x2)
Video Card = Intel® HD Graphics Family\\

(I noticed it said that Intel isn't officially supported by mass effect 2, I would like to add again that the game has been working for a year, and only just started messing up about two weeks ago)

Do a search in this forum for threads about the game crashing when you hit escape. The advice in tehre is about all youre going to get on trying to get ethgame worknig with Intel chipsets.

After a year of abuse, it is entirely possible you have overheated the chipset, and its failing due to burnout.

Maybe, but all of my other games work fine, even crysis 2 and skyrim.

Since that is absolutely impossible, you simply have no idea at all what "fine" means.  Intel video is crap.  Pure unadulterated feces.

which doesn't make sense because I can run crysis 2 on maximum graphics with no lag.

are you even listening? this isn't a lag problem, this is a problem where all of the stats and selection options start flickering.

You are the one who is not listening. Intel graphics are not supported. End of story.

I now consider this thread closed. You currently have 4 options.
1) Search the forums like I suggested, and hope for the best.
2) Go to EA support, and get them to help you after you have explained you are running the game on unsupported hardware.
3) Buy a decent gaming rig.
4) Accept the fact your computer doesnt met spec, and move on.

/thread.

Okay, my brother  found more accurate System Information. (the instructions on here led me to something that mislabeled it)
My graphics card is a GeForce GT 540M
with driver version 266.72
an Intel core I7 processor,
and 4 gigs of ddr3

That most likely has a switching graphics card driver, ie it has two graphics "cards"/solutions and will switch between them as it is instructed by your driver. Have you updated your driver recently or since the last time you played the game or trouble started?? If so go back to the older version. Other than that you may want to google search a bit or hit your comps forum about issue.

I did get halo 2 for this computer, and every time I play it it switches, and that's around the time that the trouble started. Thanks.
