So male players don't feel intimidated.

I think Kaidan's the best looking LI for femshep and maybe Thane.
Maybe this is Biowares way of telling us that love isn't all about looks?

Fair enough. I don't get the point of the opening post. Also I don't find fish attractive because

1 they're fish.
2 I've recently turned vegetarian
3 Even if I still ate fish, I wouldn't eat mermaids.

Does anything think Female Shepard gets the short end of the stick when it comes to romances? I chose Kaidan in the original ME and I think I'll stay faithful to him for ME3, but they make the choice too easy because I don't want my Shepard to be a lesbian (but it's ok if you do ) and all the male aliens are butt ugly (sorry Garrus). It's not fair that manShep practically has a sexy interspecies harem with the Asaris and the Quarians (even though I can't see Tali's face I assume she's hot) as well as Miranda and the ME3 version of Ashley (damn). I wish they'd give us more attractive male aliens or at least more interesting human men to get with (Jacob is boring to me). What are your opinions on this and who did you choose your femShep to romance?

Because they're not your species?

If you don't find dogs or cats (different species from this world) physically attractive, why would you find other species from other worlds attractive?

I'm a Garrus fan, but if any human can look at, what is essentially a bipedal dinosaur and be physically aroused.. then there is something wrong with your wiring.

You're supposed to be physically attracted to your own species.

The only reason the Asari attraction can be defended is that they're basically 90% human in their appearance.

Krogan? Turians? Not at all.

I think thats why they call it a fetish, its not supposed to be examined too closely  for fear of discovering something about yourself you wouldn't want to know. Personally I think xenophilia's a bit odd but hey, if things like this turn you on who am I to judge?

Oh this thread is going places.

Grabs popcorn (is that getting old now)

Nice popcorn by the way.

Like Zkyire said. "Because they're not human". My mind hasn't got used to the fact they're well alien. I'm a bit of an Ashley when it comes to romancing aliens from outerspace. I'll kiss on the left cheek thank you very much.

Not human. I don't expect aliens to find us attractive either. Unless they're similiar looking.

I love the Garrus romance. Would I find real-life aliens sexually attractive? No. Do I find other Turians smexy? Not really. The point is to fall for an individual based on his personality, despite the obvious interspecies barrier. Since romancing Garrus I find his physical attributes attractive (dat waist!), but only because I am emotionally attached to him.

Asking for male aliens who are attractive by human standards seems shallow.

In a thread full of Xenophobes on the first page... I'm going to be the xenophile to say Turians, Asari, Salarians, Krogans, Quarians, and Drell are way hotter then humans... I just hope there is a good non human S/S relationship, from a female Shepard stand point, the male humans are terrible ... but in my eyes he has the best relationship of all... Garrus!

Not being sexually attracted to something of another species does not make one a xenophobe.  Hating them because they are different species makes one a xenophobe. We are, usually, sexually attracted to our own species for a reason.

I think Wrex and Garrus are great characters, but I don't want to sleep with them.  If you do, that's great. To each his own.

If anything is "wrong," it's irrelevant. It's only a defect if it does harm, and if it only harms your sensibilities, it doesn't count.

Me like. :D

Otherwise. I don't understand, op. Why for a female ( you said you aren't lesbian ), a female quarian would be attractive, and not a male quarian ? because quarians lack of muscles ? Because otherwise, that's the same. Masks, etc.

I don't find Tali attractive behind her mask..., we don't know if she is, she is hot because of her body, but that's it...

And Garrus and Turians seem totally attractive to me... If my femshep doesn't romance Garrus, that's just because that's bad in M2.

I think thane is hot, he has delightfully human lips and a very exotic sounding voice that could churn butter, his coloring is exotic and fascinating and I really feel for him. Would I be attracted to a real life drell? Probably not but he's not real life he's a delightful part of an epic story, one of many permutations that can get you emotionally attached to it. I am attracted to him because he was well designed to stimulate my interest. but the fantasy is ALWAYS better than the reality.

Garrus is the unexpected best friend turned romance and his uncertainty just sealed the deal for him it is really his first time, at least with a human and that was heart warmingly attractive

My personal stance on the issue is, as long as your love hurts no one, find happiness in whatever form you find it. I personally wouldn't find Thane or Garrus physically attractive if I was a woman, but I find their personalities and character compelling nonetheless.

Only in real life will girls fall in love with money. But you're right about the boobies. Girls want cash, guys want ******.

Dogs and cats are vastly different from the aliens in Mass Effect; do in no small part to the fact that they're not sapient; they don't have human intelligence, culture, society, nor do they remotely posses the humanoid structure that many of the afformentioned species do. So you're comparison, with respect, doesn't compare.

And while you might not find it stimulating, there are obviously people here who do; so saying something is "wrong," with our wiring is not only rude, but presumptious. Like your theory that humans are "Supposed," to attracted to only our own species. Who says? People can be gay, despite the fact that we evolved to reproduce with our opposite genders. Does that make them wrong? And before you say that's different, (Because they're still human.) its not; its people being stimulated by something they didn't evolve to be stimulated by.

So again, there's nothing "Wrong," with being a xenophile. If its not for you, fine, but don't try telling us that its bizarre, when its no different than liking red over blue.

Gorgeous, and while I understand why Thane might have "Health reasons," (Kepral right?) what's Samara's excuse? :P
