I have a FemShep who romanced Thane but honestly I kinda agree that the FemShep romances suck

1) Dying dude still in love with dead wife
2) Your friend who has shown not an iota of interest in you
3) Boring McBlandy Dullson
4) Sensitive New Age Annoying Guy

Correction, Thane is not still in love with his wife. She died ten years previous to meeting Shepard. Her life and death had a profound impact on his own, mentioning her at Shepard's behest is in no way, shape or form an indication of his "still being in love with his dead wife".

Whatever, I've played the Thane romance, he's still way too into his memories of her. Also he's a deadbeat dad.

The real reason Thane is dying is because he was simply too beautiful for our galaxy.

Besides, what's a sci-fi space opera without some experimentation with the alien folk. Good or bad experimentation, cause sometimes probing isn't cool.

Also its practical. If there's one thing history has taugh us, its that once societies meet, they tend to have sex and reproduce with each other.

Or more commonly they exterminate the other
(preferably the less advanced one).

People also forget there are so many times in history where people didn't try to destroy others. Many civilizations tried to peacefully convert/make money off of the other through trade, which usually ended in a mixing of culture and overall human advancement. History glorifies the conquerers, but forget that so many cultures traded peacefully for centuries.

Yes, yes, because after your wife is killed as a direct result of enemies made at your profession, severing ties and putting your easy-target-for enemies child out of harm's way isn't the responsible thing to do.

/sarcasm

@ Drucilla,
Again, she was a turning point of his life and her death was the lowest point of his. Should he never talk about her at all? Would you never talk about a previous loved one to someone you've gotten close to?

I don't understand what all the hate is about. Haven't current divorce rates shot bullet holes in the whole, "first love is the deepest" concept? If you break up with Thane and say, "I can't replace your wife," Thane replies, "You wouldn't have. It is possible to love more than once in one's lifetime."

Oh I don't know, not sure totally severing all ties with his son was the greatest of ideas. Look how that turned out. Plus he specifically says that he basically walked out on his family well before Irikah's death. "Away on business".

Sorry Thane-fans, the man comes with some pretty massive character flaws/lots of baggage. Just cause he's green, ripped, got a deep voice and wears half a shirt doesn't make him a good LI to everyone.

He's an assassin. I don't think "Bring your child to work day" or "Career day" is a good time to interact with your child as an assassin.

Yes, look how that turned out. His son was alive, for starters (more than could be said for Irikah), having been raised by aunts and uncles.

He was always away on business because he had no other skills. "The Hanar let me leave their service so I could raise a family. But I had no other skills, so I free-lanced." Family had to eat, had to get bills paid. And really, if you've been trained from an early age to use your body as a lethal weapon, are you really going to take up carpentry? He thought he was doing enough to keep his professional life and personal life separate. He might have been, had the Shadow Broker not gotten involved.

I never said he was a good LI for everyone, but I doubt you could say that for any other character.

It's cool. Shepard goes to the human afterlife. Or the robot one.

I never said he should bring his son to work, but the occasional bit of contact probably wouldn't have gone astray.

Yeah, yeah BS. Should've found a way that didn't involve walking out on his family. Giving up this dangerous line of work when he had a young family would've been a decent start.

All I was doing was pointing the gigantic, deep character flaws he comes with. You seem hellbent on justifying them.

He didn't leave Kolyat on the streets to fend for himself. Contact could very well put Kolyat's life in danger, again.

People don't give up their jobs as cops or Alaskan fisherman or transporting large sums of money between banks, when they have families. They feel that they can manage both, that the risk is worth the reward. Most people push away the thoughts that the worst could come to pass, that it could happen, just not to them.

Thane was young. Irikah showed him life outside of his work. He wanted to keep her, keep both the skills profession he had spent a lifetime honing and his family. A dilemma not uncommon in today's world.

You seem hellbent on crucifying him.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on the whole fatherhood/family thing. I think it says something about his character that he made the choices he did. I lose respect for him. What interpretations others have is something I can't control.

Oh he has his good points. But he comes with a cartload of bad ones too.

Ok in all seriousness, every one has their own opinion and that's just that. :)

Some people don't find the aliens in the game attractive, I personal find them extremely attractive, give me a Turian any day and I'll be a happy woman. :D

I love Garrus, and I romanced the hell out of him. My main Shepard loves him, had a crush on him since the very first game. Same goes with Tali, I made a male Shepard just so I could have her. :D

To me I find Turians, Quarians, and Drell the most attractive, Turians and Quarians I'm most attractive to, and it’s not only because of their features and voices, but also because of their personality. I am both mentally and physical attracted to them and that's just that. :) If they were real I would make it my goal to greet them happily and attempt to romance them in love and friendship.

A relationship with another race that I am both physically and mental attracted to would work and make my life very happy.

They’re just another race another culture. :D I think BioWare did a good job, but again my opinion.
Now..... :3 putting the seriousness aside... :D Raise my xenophile brother and sisters, join me in pushing back the xenophobes! :D

If you find this unattractive I have doubts about your mental health.

(The image for some reason gets removed, but what ever hopefully you'll know of which one I speak of. :D )

I just want to say, I LOVE this picture and I find this extremely attractive , and I watch the artist on Deviant Art their artwork is very beautiful. :)

Here's the sum of it, I find Turians, Quarians, and Drell attractive and I would romance them in real life if I had the chance. I find Krogan adorable as hell, Salarians can be cute but I could not find myself with one. Between a Salarian and Krogan I'd choose the Krogan.

I do NOT find Asari attractive, I'm actually quite unattractive to them.

And between a human and an alien, I'd choose the alien anyday. :D
