I understand that Pain has a pretty good compilation hak for creatures with merged 2das, but I have not found anything decent for weapons and tilesets that is up to date for SOZ. Does such a thing exist? NWVault is a hot mess...

Most of it is designed to all be thrown in as is and will all work together.
Robinson Workshop did some excellent tilesets (RWS).

There is not a defacto compilation hak like CEP for NWN2. There are several reasons for this, but mainly th NWN2 community prefers to merge 2DAs into master 2DAs and then let people include the content individually. This supports authors, and still gets the job done.
If you search for RWS all in one, you can find the RWS tilesets in one pack on the vault.

Things like weapons (i.e. weapon models) are easy, because you don't need a 2da. Therefore, so long as any two packs don't conflict, you don't need a compilation pack at all. This is a blessing because compilation packs mess things up even more, all you really need are compilation 2das (even then, we would be better off with a little tool to install packs automatically).

Working on never launcher being able to download and install packages for end users. Already have code in place that can merge dialog and 2da files. Technically what i have planned would be of use to even those using the CEP in NWN1 as that package does not work with Project Q due to conflicts and my ability to merge I am think would allow those two projects to work together.

So the neverwinter launcher could merge 2da's on the fly? That is impressive!

NWN2 is pretty and flexible enough to live on for years. I still sit here in awe at some of the things created with the engine. All it needs is ease of use.
Pain, you could single handedly save NWN2 with that gizmo.

Seems to me this file here should be in high use everywhere for placeables.
Takes into account pretty well every custom content placeable hak that's out there for NWN2.
