I will continue to play this game on PC, just like I have all the previous titles in this series. Maybe if my friends played it I would get it on my ps3, but no need to spend the $60 if I will have no buddies to play online with.

I'm only going to be able to play it on the 360, so that's good enough for me.

i just love pc elitism , i think it started in the biginning of this generation of consoles when developer start to say : "**** off pc gamers , i got more money from consoles"

then pc elitists start to rage a lot, start to hate console players, go to 4chan and see for youself lol

we console players are not the ones to blame for pc gaming decline lol
only blizzard and valve are your friends now , but you all can deaal with it like a man and stop the rage

I am not an elitist but it is annoying that games are getting cut down to fit consoles. Especially RPGs. If they made a console that can handle games the same way the PC can then I'd be among the first to buy it.

PC elitists also generally have a better idea of what a good game is, and are generally loyal gamers who have gamed for a long time, so it came as a bit of a shock to us "PC elitists" were shunned by the gaming industry since the 360.

I present the fact that the CoD series is one of the best selling titles on consoles no matter how many times it's re-released with a new name, and the fact that the majority of CoD fans are dumb, as my evidence that PC gamers are better then console gamers. Case closed.

The ONLY thing Consoles have over PCs as pure gaming machines is they are cheaper. That's literally it, if you have the money to maintain a decent gaming rig, PC over consoles any day. If you are a poor child who just wants to shoot people with your un-precise joystick controls in CoD all day, get an Xbox.

I realize that is an elitist view and probably is just going to make Console supremacists angry, but I don't particularly care. Deal with it.

I have the PC and 360 versions of ME2. Visually the difference is not as great as other titles. The PC version is K/M support only and I expect ME3 is the same. So sitting at a desk get PC version, relaxing on the couch get 360. Because of Origin I'll stick with 360 but I'll rent it from Red Box or buy a used copy to support the PC users that are getting hosed.

Yes because a "poor" person is going to go out and spend $300 on a box that's for playing video games, clearly owning a console is an indication that you're below the poverty line.  Your CoD argument is invalid, go check the sales Black Ops and MW3 both have sold 1 million copies on PC so clearly PC gamers also play CoD, and if you think that playing CoD is an indication of a person's intelligence or a persons character than you are just a sad individual.
As for the whole console/PC thing console games look exactly the same as PC games, the only game that looks drastically different on PC is Battlefield 3, ME3 will look exactly the same on 360/PS3 as it does on PC.
As for you PC elitits knowing what good gaming is just because you've been playing for a long time, lol give me a break dude, games don't age well just because you've been playing since doom came out doens't mean you alone know what makes a good game

I started Mass Effect 2 on the PS3 and loved the game but the load times were driving me insane. I picked up 1 and 2 for the PC and not only does the game look noticeably better, but the load times are almost insignificant.

Switching levels on the Normandy:
3-5 seconds on PC
30-45 seconds on PS3

I've always been a PC gamer, so I ME3 PC for sure.

Though I am glad that consoles exist...I have not had to upgrade my PC since 2007 and it can still handle any game today :D

The majority of COD fans are dumb? Really?

And how are PC gamers better than console gamers when hardly any games are cross-platform? Plus there's the fact that being accurate with a mouse is much easier than with a thumbstick so it's not really fair to compare the two.

I don't know anybody who identifies as a PC gamer who believes CoD BO or MW3 are good games, where as a lot of console gamers certainly do. BF3 is an example of how much better games can be on the PC then the console if given the same development attention, so you kind of just made my point for me.

Also, most PC games give gamers the ability to customize the controls, graphics, etc far more then a console would. Many, many PC games have mod support, so that you can take the customization to a whole new level that consoles will never, ever enjoy, ME2 is a great example of that, in fact, and I'm sure ME3 will be similar in that regard.

Honestly, if you like consoles, that's fine, that's your opinion. Empirically and factually speaking, I think you can make a much better case for PC supremacy then console supremacy, speaking outside of the boundaries of personal opinion.

Also, your argument that being a veteran gamer doesn't give me a better idea of what a good game is baffles me. I've played games as far back the SNES days, and then went back to play even older systems afterwards. Realistically, I don't truly believe my word on what is a good game is law, but I think I have much more credibility on the subject then somebody who is a relatively new gamer. You are also taking this to a personal level, when it doesn't need to be. My attacks on Consoles aren't meant to insult, but if that's how you want to take it, so be it.

Man this thread makes me want to go to google and type up "Glorious PC elitist"

Well the only good thing about the PC elitist is that it brings the Xbox and PS3 owners together.

The precision argument doesn't hold much water with games offering aim assist. PC does offer more controls, peek in MW2 was not supported on 360. And PC always wins in the eye candy dept.

it all comes down whether you want to deal with origin or not. all of my ME games are on my computer so not much of a choice for me. my ps3 collects dust until some console exclusive comes around.

Of course the Super Nintendo is the best console of all-time but since ME3 won't come out on that I'll get it for PC. Will also try demo on 360.

There are very few AAA titles that I have not been able to play on the PC. It's by far my preferred platform. Keyboard and mouse support, better graphics, faster loading times.

The only games I play on consoles are exclusives, or those that play better with a controller. Mostly 3rd person action games, like an Assassin's Creed, or the Uncharted games on the PS3.

For those who only have one platform, there is nothing wrong with playing games there. However, if you have a decent gaming PC, it seems like it would be pretty silly to play a Mass Effect game on any other platform.

Yeah that's kind of how I feel. If you have a 360 or PS3 and don't have a decent gaming rig, then sure, it makes plenty of sense to play it on 360/PS3. I think it's pretty undisputable which one is truly better, assuming you have the choice between the two, though.

I do think the only thing that pushes PC gamers away is the various measures companies take in DRM, and the obvious bias of the industry towards consoles. I don't particularly like Steam OR Origin, as they are often required to legally play the majority of PC games now, though having them as an option doesn't bother me. I use them anyways because I have to, but DRM/Gaming platforms on PCs are certainly good counterarguments to PC elitists.

If console gamers are the ones luring companies into their open arms. Who else is to blame?

I'm not a pc elite but there are things that console players have to answer for. A lot of this crap we see now is a direct result off console gamers putting up with it.

For example; day one dlc's pre-order incentives, the focus on graphics, "casual games", Multiplayer being slapped onto single  player gamers (and trust me, I will not be forgetting this debacle) and anything wrong with the gaming industry now can be linked to console gamers. Though this isn't your fault, completely. With PC gamers whenever companies ****** us off we have other options. When they ****** console gamers off, you guys just take it.

Anyways I can't in good fortune support Bioware on the origins issue, So no I wont be getting Mss Effect 3. period.

It's the internet, every thread on internet forums has the potential to initiate a flame-war. I could start a thread about Hello Kitty vs. Dora the Explorer and some people could turn it into a flame-war or super srs debate. That's why so many people avoid forums :P.

the only personal attack I made was about your CoD comment, I played CoD people I know play it, they/we are not dumb just because we like to play CoD on consoles.
The only thing I said about BF3 was that it's the only game that looks significantly better on PC than on console i never once said it was better than CoD.
My argument as to why being a vereran gamer doesn't give you a better idea as to what makes a better game is because games don't age well.  That Goldeneye 007 games is a good example, I don't when that game came out but I saw an article a while back where the writer said they loved that game when it came out but playing it again they said the mechanics didn't age well.  Do you honestly think if Doom or the first Mario Bros. came out today exactly like they were back when they first came out they still would've gotten the praise they got?

Those are certainly good counter-arguments if those things bother you. For myself, I couldn't care less. I've never had any bad experiences with DRM that couldn't be easily worked around. I don't think it does any good, but it's also never really impacted my gaming experience.

For me, it really comes down to money. I have no argument for someone who doesn't want to commit their hard earned cash to a gaming PC. My 360 cost me something like $349 a couple of years back. My PS3 cost my $199 on boxing day. And my current gaming rig cost me $1275. There is no argument whatsoever I can make for that spending that kind of money on a gaming PC if you don't have it to spare. Now sure, you can make a much cheaper PC that will run rings around a console, especially this deep into the console generation. But 200 bucks for a gaming console is pretty darn attractive.
