PS3 is an equally good choice for playing ME3, its a preference thing, although the older systems both sucked balls (G1 PS3/360), had a tendency to die after a time.

Yes, sadly this.  I still don't get why EA has to FORCE us to have another client running just to play a game I HAVE PAID FOR instead of just releasing it on steam like ANY OTHER NORMAL COMPANY!  Boggles the flipping mind!

The best choice would be to release a naked version of the game that required nothing but the game itself.

AMEN brother! I agree.  The only reason I would put up with a steam version is because I allready have steam installed on my pc for skyrim.  With ME3 I will have to have both steam AND origin on my pc and having to put up with there annoying quirks, poor optimisation and stealing all my bandwidth.  Not to mention I don't think you can play offline with origin, the net need to be connected 24/7.  At least steam has an offline mode.

I just tested it by cutting off my ethernet port. Battlefield 3 required me to be online since the game launches Origin which in turn launches your web browser to do something as simple as play single player, but the Kingdom's of Amalur demo booted up with no problem without Origin. Mass Effect 2 operates the same way. Those are the only three things I have on Origin.

I'm going to go ahead and assume that all games purchased over Origin operate like the KoA demo, as will ME3 except for its multiplayer.

pc for sure. having a mouse and a keyboard is the best way to play. faster reaction, easier to operate. but since it requires origin and even for the retail version, im not getting the game at all

Just go with what your comfortable with or can afford at the time. If you don't want Origin, well talk with your money. If you'd rather go the console version, then go for it, unless you've played the first two on the PC, then I'd understand being frustrated. Again, it comes down to what you'd rather deal with. Some people are fine with Origins, most aren't, but they'll either talk with their wallet or not. Me personally, I prefer console, but I am a PC gamer - so fortunately I'm lucky with having it on the 360.

Gamers are gamers full stop. I prefer PC gaming overall but I also own a Xbox and PS3(though that is mainly just a Blu Ray player these days). Some games are better on a PC some I prefer the Xbox(mainly driving, sports type stuff).

Edit - i would say any game that requires shooting is better on a mouse and keyboard. I have my PC linked up to my big TV so I get console comfort with PC goodness.

I keep playing games on PC and console for different reasons. It's not insane. Not wanting/ using Origin on PC is practical.

And pray tell how does using Origin = "getting ****ed by EA" cause I just don't get it.  You don't even need to use it to launch the game, unlike Steam, you can run straight from the Exe.  You just need an Origin account (which is the samet hing as an EA account which you already have if your here) to varify your cd key. 

It seems to me most people hate Origin just because its the tredy thing to do, despite it making no sense at all.

People don't like what Steam or Origin do but Steam comes from a source most gamers trust, Origin comes from EA who don't have the best track record of customer service. Plus people don't like change we've had things a certain way for the first two installments, to change it for the third smells of a cynical cash grab, a way to force people to use Origin whether they like it or not, people don't tend to like that whoevers doing it.

Wrong.  Steam shortcuts still run through steam and use a weblink to start up most games.  Origin does not.  You do not need Oigin running at all, or even installed at all once you get the game onto your HDD you can simply launch it directly from the exe and it has zero interaction with Origin at all.  That is simpyl fact dude, trust me I know because I do it all the time. 

And the reasoning "change bad, me no likey!" is just barbaric.  Is it that big of a deal to have 1 more program on your computer?  Especially one you don't even hardly ever have to start up unlike Steam.  And why trust one company more then another?  End of the day both of them want nothing more then your money.  Nither of them care about you any more then just another digit on a profits chart.  Your kidding yourself if you think Valve is some lovely company from heaven that can do no wrong. 

You can't blame EA for wanting to c ut out an unnesisary middle man.  Many indie companies are already doing it and I don't see them getting any flack for it.  Needing another program is nothign more then a minor neusance, it is nothing of a magnitude powerful enough to prevent me or any reasonable person from buying the games they want to play. 

Then again I wonder if many of the peopel on these forums even play Bioware games anymore, the ammount of hate is mindboggling.

Nope.

Maybe not literally half,  but actually pretty close.  Seriously dude?  Come on.  1080p is a magnitude better then 720p, especially when there is no AA.  To have both AND a smooth frame rate just blows consoles away graphically.
