I'm playing ME1 for the first time w/a female Shepard. I turned down Liara right away because her instantly falling in love with Shep/her neediness creeped me the hell out. I know Kaidan is as exciting as watching grass grow, but I want a love interest in hopes there's a conflict between my ME1 and 2 (which will be Garrus) love interests in ME3. I'm bad, I know. =P

But I don't know if I messed up, or if I'm just not that far yet. I haven't gone to Noveria nor Feros yet, I did a lot of side stuff and Bring Down The Sky. Again, Liara didn't take long to hit on me, so I don't know if I locked myself out of a Kaiden romance somehow already. I did tell Liara he's just a friend but that's all I can think of.

I'll be annoyed if I leave ME1 without an LI, because I already did that in the comic in the PS3 version of ME2 (on purpose mind you).

Shep is also very much renegade, if that affects anything.

Kaiden will only advance the romance after each mq mission. Renegade romance is possible but there are if I remember two options that will end the romance, and he will apologize for wasting your time, so save before talking. The renegade romance was pretty entertaining I thought.

You'll know if it's progressing if he asks you about liara.

Do Noveria or Feros, and Kaidan will have more to say. You know the relationship is started if he asks about Liara (which he will do even if you haven't started a relationship with her).

I guess I was *too* renegade. Romance didn't turn out, I need to learn to be nicer. Haha. Thanks anyway guys.
